Vizag Colony History
Vizag colony is located near Hyderabad. Approximately 60 years ago, a group of twenty-four families relocated from Vishakapatnam district to contribute their skills and labor to the ambitious Nagarjunasagar dam project. Over time, they established a close-knit community in Chandampet Mandal, nestled within the picturesque Nalgonda district, and named their settlement as Vizag Colony. Today, this thriving village is home to over 700 residents who have forged deep connections and created a haven for themselves. Surrounded by majestic hills and fertile irrigation lands, Vizag Colony is blessed with the serene presence of the Nagarjuna Sagar reservoir on one side and the tranquil backwaters on the other, giving a beautiful atmosphere to this unique place.
Best Island Near Hyderabad
After reaching the Vizag Colony one can embark on an adventurous journey to Yelleswaragattu Island which is 20 minutes from the colony. If you’re travelling by own vehicle from Hyderabad to Vizag Colony the vehicle should be parked at the allocated parking area and then one has to take a boat ride to reach the Island.
Vizag Colony Boating Price
If you want to stay overnight and camp on the island the cost of a boat ride is INR 1500/- and a skilled fisherman will assist you in reaching the peak of the island. However, for those seeking a more casual outing without an overnight stay, a delightful boat ride option is available at just Rs. 200 per person.

How to Reach Vizag Colony Telangana
Hyderabad to Vizag Colony distance is approximately 132 km and the place can be reached only by road.
From Hyderabad, you can take the NH65 highway towards Narketpally and continue on the route until you reach Chandampet Mandal in the Nalgonda district.
Vizag Colony is located within Chandampet Mandal. It is advisable to use GPS or navigation apps for the most accurate directions.
Once you reach Chandampet Mandal, local transportation options such as auto-rickshaws or taxis can take you to Vizag Colony, which is nestled within the area.
