This is as good as metalcore gets. It's so dynamic, melodic, heavy and cathartic. The song progressively gets better and better and then finishes with the most outstanding breakdown in metalcore history.
33 years old now and this really takes me back...man i miss this style so much. I seen them live 2 years ago and walked out the pit barely able to sit LMAO had a 3 hour drive back home too by myself...best night ever
Always gonna be one of my favorite songs ever. Even right up there with stairway to heaven. This is what parkway drive is, nothing more, nothing less. I will cry listening to this song until I die probably.
i think it's really funny that there is another video that is much lower quality of this song that has over 5 million views but the actual fuckin video from the music label only has 40k
+Scotty Peterson (Scottsdaaale) The original video is over 7 years old, and this one was uploaded less than a year ago, so it makes sense that the other one has more views.
this song reminds me of my ex.. not that the lyrics necessarily applied to him, I mean they did in a way, but not with so much hatred and negativity that this song implies. I just listened it a lot when we were talking.
In 2005 I thought this song was about a girl I hooked up with a couple of times, but thought the lyrics were about my own childish reaction to love not quite finding the mark. Now at 36 I can dedicate this song word for word to my X Wife, and relate the lyrics I didn’t understand to my own adult reaction to knowing how much of a joke she was and how much better off I am without her. THANK YOU for taking everything, and leaving me with nothing but a hotel room and a couple of my little sisters friends to beg to let me stay at their house until I got my shit together. Going for a surf in Byron has never brought me as much joy, after being stuck in a fking house with u. keep it metal lads. Keep ur mates.
I am so glad you guys re uploaded this album in higher quality! I was literally just talking about how this should be done on the music video for Sleepwalker yesterday. Now you guys just have to re upload that music video in high quality!
Parkway Drive is amazing. Such a classic! LYRICS: The incisions on your wrist were all for show. Just like you. The epitome of self indulgence. Another farce, a charade and another set of crocodile tears. So serenade her with your last pathetic suicide love song. "Broken hearts never mend." But fools never move one. And now she's gone because of you. And once again you're the epitome of pure self destruction. Cupid never found his mark. As we await the insertion of blades on flesh. You part the skin and tell of blades on blood. So part the fucking skin. So part the fucking skin. To tell the blades on blood. To tell the blades on the blood. The blades on blood. She said I love you. She said, she said goodbye. So cry me a fucking river bitch. You wouldn't know love if it crushed you fucking chest. Let go. You wouldn't know love if it crushed your fucking chest. "Razors, roses and a black tomorrow." You wouldn't know love if it crushed your fucking chest. "Razors, roses and a black tomorrow." Yeahhh. They never showed any affection to anything but your ego. A tragedy of errors at the best of times. You are everything that's wrong with me. You are everything that I despise. You are everything I dreamed would die. You are everything that fades away and slowly dies. Will you bleed for me when suicide seems so yesterday? Will you bleed for me? Will you fucking bleed for me when suicide. So yesterday. It's all so fucking yesterday. So yesterday.
As with a ton of other people this was the first PWD song I ever heard. So while they still remain one of my top 3 bands of all time as their new albums have matured with me and imo Horizons, Deep Blue, and Atlas are the best sequential trilogy of albums any band has ever released, this song and album have a rare and special place. This song encompasses what is PWD, brutal breakdown beginning with "cry me a fuckin river bitch" , an amazing solo, and finishing with a hauntingly beautiful and emotional melody.
I TOTALLY FORGOT HOW GOOD THIS WAY I HOPE THEYRE STILL TOURING CAUSE HLY SHIT I THOUGHT I WASNT INTO METAL MUCH ANYMORE AND I WAS SO WRONG. im so hyped up rn
I think this was the first real metal Band that I started listening a half year ago, and this song (especially the end) , just gave me this one uncredible vibe and feel, fck I just can't handle it in words, so sick ' - ' Ok I always see myself how I fall into a hole of nothing, Irdk why but it's like always in my head when I hear the end melodia,..
that fucking ending is everything!! this album still goes hard 20 years later like when it first dropped.. such a classic record. so much nostalgia🥹damn old parkway was an absolute assault.
Nearly broke my ankle in circle pit of theirs once lol and lost a shoe in another pit back in the day but fuck it , the experience and memories is what mattered !

In my own experience. Romance IS more of an illusion. Quit chasing the unseen and do not be afraid to walk your own path, to forge your own. ✌
