    At least she had a personality. She was probably raised in the lap of luxury was allowed to share her opinions. No matter how she ended, it seems as if she stood her ground till the end.

    The marriage among the royals was based on the politics. I think the Emperor Shunzhi was a spoiled brat. He should behave better toward his official wives, not direct things for his own satisfaction.

    It seems most of the empresses in Qing dynasty didn't have smoothly live in the forbidden city 😅 I feel like there's some curse around the six palaces.

    • @user-gj1kp9bm6o
      @user-gj1kp9bm6o 2 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      Maybe that’s because forbidden city was built by last dynasty and Manchu took it by war.

      The empress was chosen for other reasons (generally political) than love. And most women go insane when they don’t receive the affection not to mention the expectations of the role of the empress itself.

    That was interesting but sad again. I think her body was sent back to her family. Perhaps they even provided for her. At least I hope so

      I think the Empress Dowager was her aunt and the succeeding Empress was her niece. Maybe they provided for her if she was still in the capital.

    Most marriages with the emperors were mainly arranged for political reasons. The rest ere just beautiful women to fill his fancy. It must be terrible to be born as women in those days, even to be in the harem. Even in early communism in the 1 child policy, most girl babies were killed so they could try next, for a son. Thank God for equality for women these days.

    Shunzhi sounds kinda nuts I have a feeling he wasn't a decent husband towards her and she refuse to stand down and wouldn't tolerate any bs. But that's just by personal view who knows what happen behind the scenes.

    interesting bit super sad history, I believe is one of the biggest Qing mysteries, Sunzhi didin't use the head properly, ok maybe they were not compatible but you can't treat a person like that just because... but we'll whe have seen that wing emperors were not the best husbands..... . I will love to know what happened to her thank you for this video I hope you can find some more information about it in the future , are there some theories or other none proven clues ?

    The empress and consorts were wives to the emperor, the difference is that only the empress has higher power over the consorts.

    🤔 This Story sound nearly the Story of Duchess Elisabeth Christine of Brunswick-Wolfenbüttel-Bevern wife of Frederick the Great. She was his unloved too, but not so hate extremly.
    After his Father past away, Frederick living far away from her in Castle Sanssouci. He didn't like her because, like Shunzhi, he had to marry her. Frederick remained married but does not continue this marriage. ( You what i mean).
    By Shunzhi what it the same i thing, if he hate all what remember him on Dorgon. And a wife she gave him alway´s Contra ( so we say in Germany).
    But what is if Erdeni Bumda don´t want the same to be become his Wife/Empress 😶‍🌫and was happy to be free and got a happy life outside from the forbitten City.😏
