You should invest in a booth at a local antique mall so you can turn your passion of thrifting into a side hustle. Why not? Do what you love! I bet you’d style the booth lovely.
This way, when you see some treasures that you don’t necessarily need (or are not your style), but love & can’t leave behind, it has somewhere to live on! And, you can sell some of your upcycled pieces!! 😁

Those flower plates in the carrier are coasters. Glad you got those; they look like they’re from the 60’s, probably never used since the cardboard was still separating them. Cute for spring! 🌸 🌷 🌸 🌷

Scott, of the Old Curiosity Shop, lives in Philadelphia, and he occasionally shops one thrift store that does auctions of particularly special/pricey items. He does bid once in a while, but has only won once!
I think I need to move to Texas, your Goodwill prices are so much better than ours in AZ. I still find treasures so I can't complain! I love your channel!

No way I’m not bidding on thrift store stuff either! I’m wayyy toooooo impatient for all that! Love all your finds and I woulda thought those floral things were coasters but I’d use them for spoon rests for my coffee or tea. They are gorgeous.

Those little dishes with flowers are coasters for your drink glasses
I wasn’t sure they are so small.
Here is something I do... at 5:35 see the little glass candlestick globe upside down on the shelf? I use them as a mini cloche. I had been wanting a small cloche and I didn’t want to pay $10 - $15 for one. I found one of the glass candlestick globes, removed the rubber on the end, cleaned it up and use it as a cloche. Much cheaper to pay $1 and it works just the same. 😁

I love that little picture you bought too, great find. That little glass bowl you put the peanuts into was sold back in the early 60's that I am certain of. My Mom had some of them we bought back then at a stall in a flea market we visited every weekend because my Grandfather had a vegetable stand there every weekend so we bought our veggies from him and got to visit him at the same time. A good memory, but back to the jars, lol. They had a small green felt disc in the bottom, on top of that sat a small plastic ring with plastic flowers on it. It came with these little liquid filled things that looked like vitamin E capsules and you would prick them with a needle to allow the liquid to come out slowly and it would smell like flowers, so when you had an odor you wanted to cover up you would take off the lid for a little bit and then put it back on when the scent was gone. They were very popular because they were pretty enough to leave out all the time unlike the plastic Renuzit things we also had back then. In the 70's they changed the scents into little pellets that looked like rabbit food, lol. I think they still sell the little pellets at craft and dollar stores today. It is very rare to find one that still has the thick plastic flowers in it today. If you need to organize small things the bowls are stackable and you only need the lid on the top one that way. I have three of the bowls stacked on a shelf next to my desk with paperclips, rubber bands, and pushpins in them. They are very handy when you have a small space because they hold a lot but only take up a small foot space. They are also very pretty without the lids if you put water in them (you can add food coloring to the water) and then put little floating candles or single flowers in them. One of my favorite hand-me-downs from my Mom because there are so many things you can put in them, and so many ways you can use them in your decor. I have also put jewelry in them or small sewing notions.
I just love how you styled everything. Your LIL Grandbaby is sooo adorable! I have not ever heard of auction at the thrift store. I just subscribed. I really like you channel and your style. God Bless. 😊

That picture reminds me of a place on my grandparents farm when they lived in Indiana years ago.
The pretty coasters can be used as tea bag or teaspoon holders.

U take the most ordinary things and see the beauty in them and turn them into something gorgeous..u definitely inspire me.the crazy lamp lady shops at a thrift store that does auctions..it was the first time I have heard of it. But it also has a buy it now price so if someone does that the auction ends..

Hi Julie. Love shopping along with you. My thrift store is so small and always has the same things, I hardly ever find anything there. I have that same glass jar with the cute top, in my craft room, filled with pretty old buttons. I like your idea for the coasters, nothing says that you can’t use an item for something different than it was made for. I remember hearing on someone’s thrifting video once that if it’s real ironstone it will say ironstone on the bottom of the piece, don’t know how true it is though.

If your looking for a hitch, Northern California has so many!!! I got a solid cherry , a beautiful farm house pine, and a colonial , and Art Deco!!! The furniture in the area outside San Fran is amazing!! But the state sucks !! But we have tons amazing furniture
Yes, y’all’s furniture thrift stores do have amazing prices. I’ve seen some thrift channels from Cali show prices on the furniture and I’m shocked how cheap it is. Thanks for stopping by tonight.
The tree little tin trays with the snow and horse and buggy, I have it too. I keep out all year. I liked all your finds you got today. I wished you would have picked up the distressed jewelry box. I saw where you can take the door and hinges off and hot glue a rabbit with some greenery , brown moss in there. Pull out one or two of the drawers and leave open with Bird eggs and spring flowers. Great for upcoming Easter. I have never heard of a Goodwill doing that either. Enjoy your videos.
Gift 'n' Thrift in Harrisonburg, Virginia has an auction section. Sometimes it's like looking at a museum! This is my favorite thrift store!

Julie, you don't know how lucky you are to have soooo many thrifting stores to go to.I live in Staten Island, ny and we have one small thrift store and one salvation army( which never has anything worth while so I stopped going there0. i LOVE STORES LIKE YOU HAVE. I'm a 85 yr old thrifter, diy'r from way back so I try to make do with whats available. WhenI watch your channel I get jealous when I see all your finds. I have a set of coasters similar except mine have birds and don’t have a caddy (which I would spray with black). I loved the iron stone. CrazyLampLady goes to a place that has bids but I’ve never seen it myself.

You can put solar lights in the chandelier and they will light up after dark. No bidding for me. Drill a hole in the tip of cutting board and hang it.

I love how you thrift. How you pick things up and look at them. I do the same thing. It's so fun to go thrifting in any thrift store. Some of my favorites stores in my area are Hospice, Peaceful Path ( for a women shelter) and Community Thrift. I prefer them over Goodwill. All the thrift stores have gone up on there prices, it's rediculeous. Did you know that Goodwill have auctions on eBay? I watch The Recycled Life and on one of there videos they were given an opportunity to go to the warehouse where Goodwill stores all there expensive donations that they put up for auction. You can't go there and shop. It's like Fort Knox. It is an on incredible site. I have looked at some of the things they have up for auction on Ebay. I think it's up in Oregon or Washington State, that's where these two girls live.

Pretty cool haul. I think the "coasters" may actually be for tea parties. To rest your tea bags on, or for the tea strainers for loose leaf tea. Great ironstone find.

I understand thrift stores sell things to help people (sometimes). But I don't like stores that do auctions. Because I am looking for a deal. That is why yard selling is going to be key this year. It definitely last year. You have to get your butt up and be out there by 7am to get anything good.
Yes, around here you must get up with the rooster (literally) to get to our garage sales for the good stuff.

What I’ve recognized throughout your videos is the foundation of why you do what you do ... love and family. Your Godly love has brought you a much bigger family. His timing is impeccable and knows exactly what we need when we need it. You are implementing a wonderful service into your life by sharing: Yourself, talents home and family.
