i fell victim to a server like this-- i have horrible compulsive spending tendencies which are exacerbated by a personality disorder i have, and these kinds of servers prey on that compulsion so bad. i joined the cosmic smp server and not even ten minutes in i had already spent money. i must have spent over $500 in the couple weeks i played. horrible. i'm so ashamed of it. watching this video is incredibly cathartic and makes me feel better. you're doing good work.
@@tetraxis3011 I'm in therapy now, and it's been helping a lot. The urges are still there, but I'm learning healthy ways to redirect them into actions that help relieve the urge without actually spending money! It's been very helpful, to say the least. And relieving.
It would have been cool to split the lag machine into 3 locations. That way the staff would think they won after removing one of the machines, and bam, two more enter, making the lag even worse.
I love how the fact that the lag machine was so powerful, proved to people that it wasn't a lag machine because the tps wasn't dropping. Absolutely incredible.
At first I was thinking he could've tried to hide the machine a bit by building some stuff around the machine but apparently the staff was so incompetent he didn't even needed to do this... lol
I was a veteran player on MS for a few years just after they merged two servers to create it, the played it pretty consistently from 2018 to 2021. it's always been absurdly pay2win, especially the towny part. Brought back a lot of memories when I saw the person who banned you, Yive was a developer back a year or two ago. He was notorious for messing with balancing and generally having no idea what he was doing. One of the server plugins he made had a dupe that was so easy to do I was able to materialise thousands of the store items in seconds. He didn't even ban me either he just confiscated the items and I never really understood why. He was generally regarded as being pretty incompetent and extremely arrogant about his decisions. He was also regarded as not having a clue what he was doing considering some of the stuff he changed at the time. At one point he was removed from the dev team publicly, but then silently made his way back in. the server has had problems with corrupt admins and pay2win for years now. Just wait until you see how bad towny is, people have almost quadrillions of dollars there, the economy is completely busted. Glad to see this joke of a server get what it deserves, the admins on there are really incompetent so i'm not surprised. To put it into perspective, Yive is a HEAD DEV for ALL SECTORS of the server, and it took him that long to figure it out. Great video giving this server what it's had coming for a long time!
“So knowing the admins may find me, I continued to mess with them, place more carts and leave messages” Actually cracking up at how incompetent this P2W server was, how much you got to lag it, and you just messing with them and casually committing war crimes. Never stop man, you do outstanding work
Man, I couldn't help but laugh at the fact that people actually said "Wow, someone is finally lagging this shithole?" AND KNEW INTRINSICALLY WHO IT WAS THAT WAS DOING IT AND CHEERING YOU ON, EVEN OFFERING TO HELP. THAT IS HOW YOU KNOW YOU'VE MADE IT MY BOY
It's always a joy to see people putting in this much effort to ruin such blatant models designed to exploit children. Been considering doing stuff like this myself, but I'm just so garbage at it and I lack the patience. Good to know there are people to do it for me. By the way, I love the little captions showing the small goofs you've made. Those little oopsies are so relatable and make the videos more enjoyable.
I feel like a more effective way of shutting down a server is a lag machine *near* other players hidden away that doesn't totally destroy the tps but makes it just bad enough to be noticeably annoying, driving players away from the server.
I loved how the TPS was so bad that people had time to get a Doctorate in Computer Science so they could tell everyone that it wasn't a lag machine but, alas a packet loss.
Well CLEARLY it means the Horizon was just running around stealing packets from the cables. The video is just a cover up so he can keep making these videos uncontested. Just try actually building that "lag machine" and you'll see Horizon will run to your house and start stealing packets.
"*other servers* are on a different overclocked system..." Me who has built too many computers to count: What does overclocking have to do with any of this?
As an admin of a large server like this (non-p2w please don't hurt me) it pains me that the admins and owner couldn't find what was causing the lag. Its literally a single command to see the entities in the world, and they'd see 5000+ minecarts at the top of the list. It even shows the chunk location. But I guess I can't expect much from a server thats run like that.
EXACTLY lmao, when I started running my own anarchy server I thought lag machines would be a problem, but it's so damn easy to figure out what's causing it. These admins probably just arentpaid enough LOL
Server: *0.0008 tps* Staff: Runs administration command Server: Your command has been added to the queue. Estimated wait time is 12 business days Staff: I don't get paid enough for this, *Disconnects*
@@The_Horizon Well did some testing on a local server on 1.18.1 and at 1470 minecarts it actually crashed the server lmao, like just flat out died. However I did notice the command block I was using to summon the minecarts did slow down significantly overtime and as more showed up. When the average tick per milisecond got around 250ms it was only summoning around 4 minecarts per second. So I can't imagine what 5000+ would feel like lol. Not sure exactly how it would effect plugins or if at all but I can imagine it would be slow af.
Jesus christ, being able to purchase an unban instead of learning from your mistakes. This literally teaches kids that their parents wallet will solve every problem.
For anyone wondering, the reason why using minecarts in this fashion is so laggy isn't just because of the number of entities you're using alone, entity collisions (one entity pushing another) cause even more lag. If you spaced out each of those minecarts the TPS would probably be lots higher, but since they are packed together and ALSO moving, the game has to do SO many calculations per tick that it lags the game immensely.
This one was actually pretty clever! Instead of only being able to lag the server once the server was lagged often so the admins prolly thought it was a server issue at the beginning
This is true. I'm CheechMarin from the video. We were so used to lag that both us players and staff just assumed it was normal server lag. According to staff back in 2020 when this was recorded, it was on an overclocked server and had frequent lag issues. I guess in this instance, it was exactly what you said. Staff assumed it was lag as their other servers were lagging. That message I put out in chat about it not being a lag machine came directly from staff in the MineSuperior discord. And I was mostly trying to stop everyone from spamming chat with "is there lag?" every 2 seconds.
This was without a shadow of a doubt one of the most hilarious things I have ever seen in minecraft!!! like, this was absolutely awesome Horizon and I think this should 100% continue as these servers need to be taught a lesson.
The worst part is that in the p2w rank it says: "The rank is exactly the same as royal, but with more cosmetics and t5 mining along with a sense of pride and accomplishment in helping fund the MineSuperior server" I'm convinced this server is partly owned by EA
At first I thought, damn… all those people probably put hours on the server and didn’t deserve this… but it’s like showing your best friend they’re being cheated on to their eyes, it hurts but at least they know to get out of that toxic relationship (ie. ptw server). KUDOS TO YOU 🎉
tbh as someone who used to play on this server and spend a few bucks and stuff on such, yeah it definitely felt that way but eventually moved on from it and now i'm smoking the pack (not really but i wish) after discovering this vid after a year

Massive optimization: set the loading track on a slope so that even when it freezes outside of the loaded chunks it'll gain speed automatically once it's loaded. Have them fall onto a larger loop of _unpowered_ powered rails so they freeze in a downward position. The TPS won't drop nearly as bad when priming the loop and then all you have to do is flick a lever to power the loop up and wreck the CPU with collision calculations. As for the iron, an iron golem farm would've helped and a redstone supersmelter with hoppers would work fine, they aren't that hard to make. Great video, keep up the good fight!
couldn't you also have a dispenser fed by hoppers place carts? it might not be as fast as manually, but you could set up a hopper/chest chain to have it run automatically.
@@michaelkolano8686 That would work for a while but the dispensers would slow down with the TPS drop. It'd be great if you were by yourself, but with friends and autoclickers laying down carts at the max speed it's redundant. Not a bad idea if you want to AFK on the surface where you can pretend to be doing "normal" minecrafting without being caught near the machine.
A more insideous thing to do would be to just place hundreds of much less potent lag machines around the server, underground near player bases. Then it would add up without a single obvious cause.
As someone who ran a server back in the beta, they can literally check who placed a block (including air blocks) when and even undo all actions from a specific user for a specified period of time. Unless the tools they use for their server are junk or they don't know how to use them. Griefers are pretty easy to catch if you know what to look for.
@@jazzyj7834 That relies on them finding it. Part of the point (on top of having it be hard to get rid of + having it ramp up and down independent of any of them being online) is that it would be a lot harder to discover if no-where in particular sticks out as being especially laggy.
@@HaniiPuppy Then they check server logs. Or they simply roll back the server. It's not hard to resolve this issue. They just have to care, like a little.
@@jazzyj7834 Check server logs for *what*? And what would prompt them to? Any individual instance wouldn't be using resources outwith a sane range, and it's not like the lag would just suddenly pop up, it would ramp up over the course of time it would take to build it, and would fluctuate depending on how many players and when they're on the server. Again, part of the whole point of such a thing would be making it hard to discover. + Let's say they have discovered it, since you're assuming a level of dilligence of them that they don't actually have. They're not going to roll back the entire server for everyone, (assuming they even have any idea of *when* to roll the server back to) and if they only roll back a few chunks with one or two of the machines in there, it won't do very much. If you're using multiple accounts for it, they couldn't even use checking blocks across the entire world placed by a particular player. And even if they have the locations of all lag machines, if they've scattered them around the world, other players will have built or played above or around them by the time it's discovered. + They'd be left with the ongoing worry for months over whether any lag spikes are normal, new lag machines, or old ones they haven't found. It has a low level of discoverability, it's awkward to establish the extent and find all instances, (with an aspect of unknowability) and it's a pain in the arse to get rid of properly.
His other video he uploaded people were legitimately saying "someone has a backdoor to the server where hes crashing it" which isnt how that works. If you have access you'd just delete it@KeiGeri0406
i love how you use such grand sweeping orchestral music throughout this. it makes me feel like i'm witnessing some truly brave and heroic acts, and honestly, i am ;)
I got banned from this server for saying "damn" once. goes to show how broken their moderation is. Apparently saying "$249.99 for a rank? That's as much as a damn xbox" is "targeted harassment"
you could sort of try to hide an lag machine under a lava pool so that it would be harder for server owners to spot them in spectator mode, as lava is so annoying to deal with
that is very smart, but incredibly painful to do. Lava isn't like water, so I can't just use kelp or whatever. I don't know how I would approach doing something like that.

It probably has to do with addiction of some sort. It reminds me of adults I seen in my life who spend all day in a casino until bankruptcy or losing all loved ones in their life. Honestly they themselves are victims because those server owners basically prey on their customers emotionally compromised states.
There’s a roblox game developer called Sonar Studios, and they make very pay-to-win games. Primarily their game Creatures of Sonaria (a game where you survive as different original monsters/creatures made by sonar. To their credit, the models and animations are STUNNING) that has a rarity-based system with their creatures. Players scramble to collect all the rare ones, and there’s a lot of stereotypes about people who main as certain creatures. For example, if you play as a small creature called a minawii, you are guaranteed to get targeted and harassed by larger creatures, but if you play as a moonelle, people will protect you with their lives bc moonelles have a healing ability. I used to be addicted to it but I saw the light and quit playing it because the player base SUCKS, the devs SUCK, and the game has strayed FAR from the original intentions. It’s still fun, but I really just resent the game. This server reminds me of Creatures of Sonaria. The only reason people play it is because they’re addicted, and in the Minecraft server, I’ll bet it’s the same as in CoS; no one plays it for the original intent (for cos it’s to survive and have fun and sometimes rp). They play it to show off their rare stuff, or because they’ve been playing it for a long time and have just gotten addicted to collecting and spending money. I really hope people addicted to games like this can recover because it’s depressing tbh. I’ve seen people on that roblox game saying how they stay up until 3 in the morning grinding to get “shrooms”, the in game currency, and bragging about how little they eat. They’re clearly just depressed and unhappy teenagers and young adults that find solace in the game, despite how shit it is. And the fact they’re so miserable is evident in the way they act. I saw it in the chat of the server in this video too. They’re hateful, judgmental, and selfish. There are a few rare nice people, but for the most part, they’re bloodthirsty and will kill you based off what fictional animal you chose to play as in a fcking ROBLOX GAME. Plz stop spam killing minawiis my GOD. Anyways thanks for reading my rant, I just see a lot of similarities. Word to the wise: don’t play creatures of Sonaria. It’ll hook you in, chew you up, and spit you out. Either that or it will piss you off to no end until you finally give up pretending to enjoy it, like I did. And probably don’t play Minecraft servers like these either.
“I swear if it’s Horizon” was probably the best part of the entire video! The whole thing is amazing, but just those few players who know exactly who you are and what you do was incredibly hilarious. They freaking KNEW! I hate P2W anywhere, but if it invades Minecraft, that’s when absolute heroes like you defend the community. You rock!
Yep. P2W servers are possibly some of the most frustrating things in minecraft. Instead of playing and enjoying servers which aren't overshadowed by p2w mechanics, many players choose to waste their money for some unknown reason. I seriously don't understand what the point is, there are great servers out there which focus on being ENJOYABLE. Not to mention that (AFAIK) many servers do a RESET every few months, so what, you're really gonna pay a $50+ monthly subscription for some rank? Perhaps if purchases were permanent it would be ever so slightly different, but still non-sensical.
Nope the funniest parts were the people being like *Guys don't worry, i have an informatics degree. This is not a lag machine and it's most likely cause by memory leak* When the server was literally running 0.08 frames per second
All jokes aside, I can't belive it takes that long for a mod/admin on a p2w server to find and ban someone operating a lag machine, Unreal. Good job with the video, You did an amazing job!
Most mods/admins from p2w servers know jack s$@# when it comes to *actual moderation/server maintenance* They expect the job to be easy. Hence the reason you see private servers (for many other games besides MC) popping in and out of existence.
@FreeMoneyBot Then their staff naming system is weird If you're an admin but not paid, you're not administrating the server, you're a developer and a moderator, but not an admin.
@FreeMoneyBot well they don't get paid in cash they get paid in server gift cards so you can buy shit on the server even helpers get this but obviously the higher you are staff wise the more this increases
@@laplongejunior lol yea i know this is confusing the only people who get paid in cash are developers and Managers the rest of the staff get paid in gift cards for the server an old friend of mine was once a Mod on that server and he said yea gift cards for the server and for each staff there was a quota of time you had to log on the network itself generally you'd spend like 10-15 mins on a server then move to the next one

In Brazil for some crimes, you can pay for liberty instead of being condemned. We call it "Fiança". I think many other countries around the world this concept exist. Why not in a game? Even because there's people paying for it, trying to enjoy their gameplay sometimes in the few minutes or hours they get through a day of responsabilities... Crashing the server just made the fact that they are paying for it worse to the players. @@waldotheranger3987 Having played on super laggy servers, the pain of trying to open a chest really does hurt.

Big brain, that's pretty smart!
couldn't you also have a dispenser fed by hoppers place carts? it might not be as fast as manually, but you could set up a hopper/chest chain to have it run automatically.
smart like monke
pls report this to paper suggestions
@@michaelkolano8686 That would work for a while but the dispensers would slow down with the TPS drop. It'd be great if you were by yourself, but with friends and autoclickers laying down carts at the max speed it's redundant. Not a bad idea if you want to AFK on the surface where you can pretend to be doing "normal" minecrafting without being caught near the machine.
this is the minecraft equivalent of nuclear warfare
i love it
A more insideous thing to do would be to just place hundreds of much less potent lag machines around the server, underground near player bases. Then it would add up without a single obvious cause.
Oh that is evil, but I would imagine that would be very hard to build and very easy to discover

I feel scammed I clicked on this video expecting a guy screaming at me just to place 2 minecarts and do nothing. Then this dude became a tutorial TH-camr turned vigial ante and then pulled on the blender making the best mc animation I have ever seen all without saying a word. This person is a robot.
I will never understand people who willingly choose to play and especially pay on a server like this
Paypigs with no life on disability money.
It probably has to do with addiction of some sort. It reminds me of adults I seen in my life who spend all day in a casino until bankruptcy or losing all loved ones in their life. Honestly they themselves are victims because those server owners basically prey on their customers emotionally compromised states.
Their parents could also be multi millionaires and/or don’t know about the importance of money
It's a status thing. They want the feeling of being more privileged than someone else, and can't get that on a normal server.
And probably don’t play Minecraft servers like these either.
imagine if they banned the account but didnt remove the lag machine so any player could just come across the chunk in the nether and lag the server
The hidden bomb
This could work as an urban legend for the server. "The lost lag machine hidden deep in the nether."
their PC just gets sent to the shadow realm
@@MmmEERTGF "they say that the creator of the lag machine died because his soul was needed to power the machine"
And then they would ban that player too, thinking it was him -> repeat 😂
Especially those servers we call p2w that can be won without paying.
@@crouchingcamels p2w means you get a massive advantage by oaying, not that you need to pay
This was more like guessing
Nope the funniest parts were the people being like
*Guys don't worry, i have an informatics degree. This is not a lag machine and it's most likely cause by memory leak*
When the server was literally running 0.08 frames per second
I was laughing the whole time. Miss these p2w demolition videos
All jokes aside, I can't belive it takes that long for a mod/admin on a p2w server to find and ban someone operating a lag machine, Unreal. Good job with the video, You did an amazing job!
haha, hard to believe it myself
Most mods/admins from p2w servers know jack s$@# when it comes to *actual moderation/server maintenance*
They expect the job to be easy. Hence the reason you see private servers (for many other games besides MC) popping in and out of existence.
@@The_Horizon can i ask how did the admins found you?
@@packallgaming7687 teleporting to random people until they see sketchy stuff
@@The_Horizon ohh
honestly, the fact that the admins took this long to do anything is proof they only care about making money off of their players.
As a retired Minesuperior player yea this is normal
true
@FreeMoneyBot
Then their staff naming system is weird
If you're an admin but not paid, you're not administrating the server, you're a developer and a moderator, but not an admin.
I love how you return with the most powerful lag machine to date, and the admins were so incompetent that it took that long to have you banned from the server. It's just sweet for such a cash grab server to suffer like this

When you can buy an unban on the server, that's an instant red flag.
When you can buy anything on a minecraft server honestly - at a certain point, just go play creative mode :)
@Daphoid your not paying for items you're paying for power over other players
In Brazil for some crimes, you can pay for liberty instead of being condemned. We call it "Fiança".
I think many other countries around the world this concept exist. Why not in a game?
If the person wish to come back to this server, good for them to get this possibility.
If you dont liked it, there's hundred of other servers.
Dont you agree it's a good thing for the banned tohave the chance to get back to his favorite server? If hethinks it worth more paying than being banned, is something wrong? I think not. It's a fair trade.
@@Heaview There's bail for specific reasons and that's a misdemeanors where the public doesn't care much about if you bail out of them since most of the time it doesn't affect anyone. But this is different since this game is not real or actual laws, so doing this is simply trying to get money out of people any way possible. Also appeals should cost you anything as you're trying to appeal something either if you were rightfully or not banned.
IDK why you're trying to conflated real life problems which most of the time have corrupt intent just to get more money to a minecraft server.
@@pushyrummble8625 They wont get the money if the person thinks buying the unban isnt worth, dont you agree?
I just wish to put in simple words thay I dont see anything wrong with it since it's a fair trade if both parts agree.
I understand, some people get mad for having to pay for every little thing in a game, that's perfectly reasonable. I myself would not play in a P2W server or game.
But there's no point crashing those servers, they're not doing anything wrong.
They can't force anyone to pay for their services, only hope to someone think paying worth it.
Since always it's a fair trade, there's really a problem in there?
What do you think?

What's mind boggling to me is how expensive ranks are, and why people would even spend that much on a rank...
I agree with you, but value is pretty a subjetive thing.
If they think it worth it, that's just a fair trade.
Nothing wrong and illegal at all.
Crashing their server was unecessary and childish.
Even because there's people paying for it, trying to enjoy their gameplay sometimes in the few minutes or hours they get through a day of responsabilities...
Crashing the server just made the fact that they are paying for it worse to the players.
They expecting a good service, and this guy, just exploded their server getting people mad because he though it is fair to crash a server that people voluntary pay to play on it..
That is even more mind boggling, dont you think?
@@Heaview oh I don't condone what he did at all to be fair. I think it was stupid, similar to people that DDOS games cause their upset about some aspect of it.
@@kid10249595 you have to realize that the mainstream people who let themselves to be exploited, will bring these practices to other servers and games because it's profitable.
