The fact that a random criminal lawyer instead of some official authority informing Ted of the death of his great aunt Birgit in addition to the circumstances AND the sum being strangly close to his debt didn't raise multiple eyebrows for Ted is just hilarious. Absolutely love how the character was written, the end was so fitting for all of it too.
Business owners can be kinda loopy... in his mind, going to jail was better than losing his company and letting workers go. He didn't seem to realize that his company was screwed anyways even if he went to jail.

In the beginning of this scene, Saul might be briefly having flashbacks to a past con he helped orchestrate along with another attractive blond woman, which in turn ruined a man's life. The result from this particular con against Ted was thankfully only slightly less tragic.
Here in Australia they search for years. My mother got some random letter about some old girl who died in the other side of the country, asking to prove it was a relative or something she knew.
I love how in the lore of these shows, so much happens that is completely indistinct from Walter White. You could consider the other characters to all be far more important than Walter White, but he just happened to be the most dangerous villain among them all and brought everything to a close. He's like Thanos, only appears for two movies out of many significant turns of events in the Marvel franchise, but ended up being the very thing that destroyed everything.
He honestly should have gone to Walt and told him what Skyler was making him do…. obviously he knew Walt would be furious once he found out even if Ted used the money to pay the IRS….. This was definitely not Saul’s smartest move but all things considered it all turned out alright 😂

After watching Better Call Saul I think the reason he knew the whole thing was a bad idea is because he had already dealt with the Kettlemans. Before dealing with that kind of idiot one would think it's inconceivable that such a stupid criminal could even exist, but Saul was ready to expect that possibility and Ted Beneke seemed to be that kind of idiot to him from experience.
That was just a little more than my grandfather left me in his will from his estate. Was unbelievably generous. I’d rather have my grandfather back than having the money😞❤️ But I wasn’t given that choice.
