The frustrating thing about JJ Babbitt is that they have the ability to put out a consistent product like the Rousseau line they make for Jody Espina but they choose to be inconsistent
@@bounderby99 it depends on the company. I’ve been to JJ Babbitt and they are fully aware that their consistency isn’t as good as we want but to them the price they sell them for justifies the inconsistency. I’d say they may have been true 10-15 years ago but today there are cheap really good mouthpieces being made.
“I think it’s pronounced unique, it could go another way…but…” 😂 thanks for not going there! But the real burning question that nobody is asking, what is the best new $2500+ mic pre for recording saxes in a spare bedroom studio?
These new links are going to be great for refacers, it’s much easier for people to buy shitty modern links and get them refaced then to buy shitty vintage links and get them refaced. Babbitt facers are drunk
The synthetics just don’t have the guts for live horn gigs-they play very flat and don’t project I’ve found-maybe for concert band or soloist stuff-that Eastman Tenor is niiice
@ 4:25 “it’s probably overkill” - probably? LOL
“I might use it as a nail file.” Ha ha ha! Have fun and please hug Mauro for me! I can’t make it this year.
haha maybe next year! he did a great job fixing up my reeds
The Senzos are awesome. I’m interested to hear how you feel about it

If companies can cut corners and save money, they always will (no matter how stupid it may be)

Sad to hear that your initial impressions on the Link's isn't surprising. You'd think with their history they'd make better mouthpieces.
