Now if some of the save the lion fish people would watch this it might show them what we are trying to explain to them. But probably wouldn’t have any effect. They think we are just fish killers for no reason
Clip a polespear onto your gun for rapid reloads and lionfish. Part of my kit and I've used that polespear to assist myself after a bad shot on a mutton snapper. Highly recommended. Happy hunting! ❤
Load up an ROV with miniature darts, optimised for aquatic “flight”, equipped with machine vision also optimised for species ID, and let it rip. I hear they taste awesome too.
just because they claim reduced non target by-catch doesnt mean a damn thing..they do catch tons of non target species. i know this for a fact. @@moekitsune
They could eat themselves out of their food supply. It’s scary. A beautiful healthy reef that should be teaming with all sorts of fish but just a couple big lion fish and nothing else. Crazy thing is going down a couple hundred feet + and no fish or activity. Just a couple giant lion fish. The divers were stunned by seeing them at that depth com glad they realized that they needed a deep water trap for those ones also
Great idea with the vertical escape slot.

You know what? Machine Vision will hold the key!

They use a female in a trap for cuttle fish, is it possible to use the same method for lionfish?
Great design.
Sadly, lionfish are here to stay. The best we can do is control their numbers.

Be careful with the sting!!
I wonder if lion fish decoys would work on attracting them.
what too you so long?
Wonder why fish cake, fish stick, and fish food companies supporting their removal?
Very interesting indeed
Ok, these are pasive traps, what about traps with some intelligence, today microcircuits can do so much. Worth trying
I had a job on a lobster boat when I was a kid back in 1986
So?
Use AI to ID it. Trap door
Use AI-powered minisubs that hunt lionfish
drones that hunt
If I had an electric boat i would donate my catch to their removal
HAHAHAHA...GOOD LUCK WITH THAT ! YOU MAY CATCH SOME LIONFISH, BUT YOU WILL ALSO CATCH MANY MORE NATIVE SPECIES
Did you even watch the video
yes...whats your point ?@@moekitsune

Or a simile thereof.
