I watched the entire film on my birthday last year. One of the most intense movies Ive ever seen. Its also based on a true story. Tim Jenkin was a real prisoner who escaped in this way and ended up living the rest of his life in the UK and Australia, and Denis is Denis Goldberg an associate of Mandelas and the only white associate to be sentenced at Rivonia with Mandela.
I'm glad to see a prisoner that tells others not to escape ultimately help out. Leanord was a big "this guy is a double crosser" feeling type of guy. But he's G.
Most of them were political prisoners, they had an integrity about them that we dont find anymore, I was lucky to have seen and met some of them , lol even though it it was just a few seconds a time...but you truly feel you in the presence of greatness. We lack men of these caliber nowdays

i have not seen this movie, but in this video he says "meneer" as if it were the guards name, but "meneer" is just the Dutch word for "Sir"...
