usually it does not. but if we were to compare Film and CR. although CR has a wider range in its Dynamic Range, CR is only better than Film if the proper exposure is used. if we speak about radiation dose, if CR was used but it has been used IMPROPERLY (overexposure), then proportionally CR actually has a higher radiation dose compared to Film. - not sure if that made sense, but I hope I helped - its all basically to do with the dynamic range of Digital and Film radiography

In cr image is formed by visible light or x ray
visible light doesnt penetrate the body.....
