NOVATION ULTRANOVA - Custom Patches 1

- So I bought one of these beauties. It's totally fantastic. I can pull vintage and modern sounds alike out of its powerful VA sound engine, but that's not my favorite part...
...it has dual power supply options: a 12V DC input or USB power. I just happen to have a USB power pack and a USB 14W solar panel (both by Anker - I love their gear!). Both are capable of powering the UltraNova away from civilization, something I can't say for my D-10.
I had to sell my Wavestation and Theremini to get this bad little board... and it was so, so worth it.
Please please release these patches!
amazing!
could you share it?
That sound at 2:30 is pretty sweet.
+Melvin Hawkins That's "Space Strings," which is a very, very close replica of my D-10 patch of the same name. It took a lot of effort, as the D-10 has 4 partials and the UltraNova only has 3 oscillators.
Since I used two symmetrically detuned pairs of partials on the D-10, I was able to listen to the beats with each pair and use the UltraNova's virtual detuning to recreate those detuned intervals with just one UltraNova oscillator per D-10 pair. From there, the filter and amp envelopes were easy enough to replicate, as were the LFO parameters and reverb.
Nice little star wars jam ^^ at least I think that's what that was.
why u dont share your soundpack?
Any chance I could buy these patches?
What do you think about Ultranova after time ...... I also love wavestation :)!
Я тоже купил вайвстэйщн, раньше у меня была ультранова
What song is that at 3:19 ? and wow brilliant sound - like the original
"Jump," by Van Halen.
I should do another patch video soon. I've improved that patch considerably.
How do you like the wavetables compared to Wavestation?
should i purchase this synth or the yamaha mx49?
+Mandy Lane MX-49, despite its "synthesizer" designation, appears to be more of a downsized version of Yamaha's legendary workstations. UltraNova is a virtual analog synthesizer.
It all depends on what you're going for. If you enjoy starting with a raw sawtooth wave and shaping it into a sound using filters, envelopes, and modulation, the UltraNova is the better choice. If, on the other hand, you like having lots of premade sounds available and you only want to tweak them slightly, the MX-49 is probably for you.
That's not even mentioning the DAW integration of both boards.
Katsunori Ujiie has a great overview of the MX-49 here: th-cam.com/video/Juy7ZeAfIhY/w-d-xo.html
Mandy Lane you will have more fun with a MX49 and more Sounds
DJMikeron thanks!
