    This is beyond beautiful. It's King Arthur, Camelot and to me, an American, a very familiar church service all combined. I love the Queen and what she represents. She's been nothing but gracious and accepting of the terrible changes in her world and thus a worthy symbol and leader.

    what a lovely way of putting it. I was born in London, but moved to Canada as a young teenager. I'm so proud to be British, and Canadian. God save the Queen indeed.

    The Psalm sung about halfway thru the service is magnificent. Why do other Christian traditions not pick up on Angican chant especially for the Psalms? Wjhat a lovely way to extol God's glory. Thank you King David and thanks to the Church of England.

      Gary Murray Check out the American Episcopal Church. At least at St. Luke's Cathedral in Portland, we do Anglican Chant.

      why do other Christians don't be like Anglican church? well, do you know for the Protestants, the church of England is Catholic? but English catholic, therefore they look at the Anglicans as 'heretic'

    It amazed me to see a comment stating that the Queen has not lifted a finger... The irony is she was celebrating 60 years of SERVICE to her country and the commonwealth countries. There is no politician on EARTH who could say that they have served their country or would serve (or we would want them to serve) for that amount of time.

      LeDerius Martin for the curious: the queen is a trained mechanic for army trucks in WWII. she gots her hands dirty often enough.

    Why is the speaker saying that the Prince of Wales was the first child to witness a coronation of a parent???? This is not true, Queen Elizabeth the II. witnessed her parents coronation as did Princess Margaret...How ignorant...I am not even British but I know history..and this guy is a speaker on this occasion on BBC..

    • @rivenoak
      @rivenoak 9 ปีที่แล้ว +8

      velkelovce also later King George V. upon coronation of his father King Edward VII.
      the late George VI. was even 6 years old on that occasion in 1901 and was certainly present at his father's coronation in 1910.
      Oh yes, it's utter nonsense with Charles being first to witness a coronation of parents. should be common knowledge in UK, if a foreign german (that's me) knows such stuff too.

    As an American, a person of the Baby Boomer generation, and a fan of the Royal Family I cannot understand why or who anyone would care what the Royal Family is wearing. They are not walking mannequins, they are much more important then that.

  • @jonathancoleman3800
    @jonathancoleman3800 11 ปีที่แล้ว +20

    @CptSchmidt.
    First of all Anthony is correct, just because his beliefs (and that of the majority of the British public) don't match yours doesn't mean you have to rant to him. Yes, people should have been bowing, but they don't anymore.
    Second the British monarchy is a national institution, the royals work more than the average European President, what does the President of Ireland of Germany do exactly? Waste money that's what! The Queen has dedicated 61 (soon to be 62) years of her life to the people of the UK and the commonwealth, you don't get that kind of dedication from the average person of the street
    And Third, "What makes them more special tang a politician who's spent years to win support to get to office" Generally because those years were spent lying and doing shady deals to get to that office. There's no such thing as an honest politician. None of them have the sympathy of the British people or the British royal family which is why I'm embarrassed every time I vote in an election.
