Sonny and Brenda`s love, amazing as it is, was abusive and destructive, with Brenda being constantly needy and whiny like a little girl begging for her father`s love and attention. Jax and Brenda`s love, amazing also, was an adult, healthy love. Brenda grew as a woman with Jax, but remained an eternal child with Sonny. When I was younger I was an avid S&B fan, but as a grown woman with life`s experience on my side, I know Jax was much better for Brenda. So for me, watching these episodes over again, I am now a J&B fan. I don`t watch GH anymore because of the lousy writing.

Sonny left her at the altar and she lost her mind, and Jax even though she had left their 'marriage ' to be with Sonny, he still swallowed his pride and helped to take care of her. That would have caused me to choose him but it is not a measure of who you love more to your soul but who you feel safer with and more loyal because of how they stood by you. A woman sometimes choses her head over her heart especially when that heart keeps being broken.

I was a Sonny and Brenda fan believe me...but the guy rejected her more times than Brenda could count...Jax came along and litterly swept her off her feet and saved her from emotional pain. I didn't blame her for being with him at this point. Besides...it was so amazing to watch Sonny eventually fight for her back. I loved this Jax/Brenda/Sonny triangle. One of the best triangles in soap history.

For all of those people who thought that candyboy was the best thing for Brenda, i pity you all.....Brenda did not love candyboy....she settled for him.....he was a sanctuary where she went to re group.....he love her for sure but it was no where near the love she had for Sonny....and all abusive talk was just that...talk....because if Sonny abused Brenda then she did the same to him.....he was not the only one to be petty and act out....and the fact was that candyboy did blackmail her....he deserved all what he got because he fell for a woman that was totally in love with another man....and he knew it....but because he thought so much of himself, he assumed that he could get her to forget Sonny.....but what everyone seems to forget was that Brenda knew who Sonny was....and she loved him....with all of his faults because she saw a side of him that people rarely saw.
Their love (S&B) was the best. S&B had an all emcompassing love. J&B had love. People like to say Jax changed Brenda, however I disagree. Love and pain changes a person.
I disagree as well J** didn't change Brenda she was popping pills the whole time. Brenda went through a lot and grew in the process. Change was inevitable for her and Sonny.
Robin asked Brenda an honest question and she gave Robin a story....she danced around the question like a ballet dancer.....how is that healthy considering she's supposed to be so in love with fairyboy?.....Jax was just a prop for her.
She didn't say she was in love with Jax. She said she is just not thinking about the love she has for Sonny since it could never be. So she is now operating with her head (Jax) and not her heart(Sonny). Brenda and Sonny have just reversed their roles. She is now the one married to someone she doesn't love and is now putting on the charade.

She just loved Sonny and quite honestly i was very upset with how callous Sonny was to her at times and the things he said to her. I couldn't continue to love him if that were me. But to me it is not even close. Some make reference to the fire and I can understand her running for Jax. Sonny left her at the altar and she lost her mind, and Jax even though she had left their 'marriage ' to be with Sonny, he still swallowed his pride and helped to take care of her. That would have caused me to choose him but it is not a measure of who you love more to your soul but who you feel safer with and more loyal because of how they stood by you. A woman sometimes choses her head over her heart especially when that heart keeps being broken.
Brenda to Robin: Sonny once said that we were like drug addicts, and I think that's true. You know I always thought that sick feeling I felt inside was love but Jax is showing me that's just not true. With Jax I don't have to trick him or beg him or want to die for him to love me. He just does. ❤️

Jax was so caring and gave Brenda the respect and attention she always wanted but her heart always belonged to Sonny. The problem was she would always have to compromise emotional abuse for passion with him. i always wonder what storylines SnB could have had if he never left her at the alter or how the love triangle would have continued. They DEF should have had a who's the father storyline lol! could you imagine an SnB baby after the cave, they could name him after Stone.
Sonny represents the relationship we women think we want - irresistible passion that pulls 2 people together who otherwise shouldn’t be.
But Jax represents the relationship we actually need. He’s a stable, secure attached dude who makes his availability known.
I always go back and forth about who Brenda should end up with and while I want it to be Sonny, unless the writer’s enact a multi-verse or time machine device that changes history from The Wire scene on…Jax is the one Brenda Barrett should end up with.
So Brenda shouldnt end up with Jax who also left her at the altar in 2003. And also wanted to pay her $1M to leave town and made Brenda feel like a prostitute ( her words ). Jax is a manipulator. He’s just like Lily. He knew darn well how in love Brenda was with Sonny. Just like Lily knew the love Sonny felt for Brenda. As Sonny/Brenda fans we just never got to see them grow and start a family. Vanessa/ Maurice at one point left and SnB story paused in ‘98. Brenda and Sonny are ENDGAME and when Maurice retires Brenda will follow!!! Forget Jax

I was a Sonny and Brenda fan believe me...but the guy rejected her more times than Brenda could count...Jax came along and litterly swept her off her feet and saved her from emotional pain. I didn't blame her for being with him at this point. Besides...it was so amazing to watch Sonny eventually fight for her back. I loved this Jax/Brenda/Sonny triangle. One of the best triangles in soap history.

Oh I agree with all of that. It's just Robin's reaction that bothered me. It always seems like she sides with Sonny. I didn't like how close she became with Lily. If I were in Brenda's shoes, I'd be a little hurt.
