Dave my wife has never been interested in any of my cars or bikes I’ve owned over the years, but since i bought a mk1 escort after watching your show (much to her dismay) she’s actually took an interest in my mk1 and loves to sit and watch your show…I only hope I can do as Good a job 😂😂 Keep up the good work! It’s all educational to me!
Looking great Dave. As someone else suggested, using epoxy with a roller is okay but doesn't give a uniform coating. I bought a cheap spray gun and an inline pressure regulator. This allows me to spray epoxy with the pressure set low (25psi-ish) which really reduces the overspray and allows you to put another (uniform) coat over finished filler to protect it. I bet you can't wait for the Welsh summer! I think it's on the 15th August this year, between 10.30am and 2.30pm.
Greetings from Australia Dave. She’s really coming on a treat now and all that hard work on the body is beginning to show dividends. Those panel gaps look amazing. I remember back to the substantial welding on the front drivers side wing which was mammoth, but it looks amazing now. Can’t wait to see her sporting her final white paint job.
I think with using a roller to apply the epoxy ( and there’s nothing at all wrong with that ) but it’s difficult to regulate an even thickness unlike when using a spray gun so blocking it even if it wasn’t orange peel would still be a good move . Looks great to Dave it’s come such a long way great job fella 👍
Hi Dave, filler,no mask ,you only have one pair of lungs my friend, wear a mask at all times ,that's the rant over ,as someone with 45years of experience, you should be really proud of what you have achieved,it's first class, and that will be evident in the end result.
Great work, a lot of work and a lot of progress in this video, must've been a lot of hours put in to this one. The light colour of the high build has really shown the benefits of all that hard work. Looks like there's very little left to fettle on that side.
Nice progress Dave , keep up the good work dont mind watching any amount of vids on your bodywork prep its great to see it all coming together. Filling and prep can get tedious at times but you are doing a fab job.
Dave, use a (blueberry) food colouring in the filler, it really helps to divide the colour between the fillers. I did it on one of my projects and the contrast really threw out deviations in the body. Good work, as always
Happy New Year Dave and family also wishing you good health in 2025. Another great video and like many viewers am impressed with what you have achieved in a little garage, Right up there with the best mate, you and Rusty Beauties (Triumphs) are both compulsive viewing. Keep them coming and hopefully come the summer we may see a Vauxhal again ?
Thought we were having snow but seeing your garage floor not quite sure now. Perfect job better, than fords original show room finish and will last longer 👍
Dave looking good i am no expert but i have seen people use what they call glazing filler for the finer parts like you dod with the swaze lines it comes ready mixed in a tube and you just apply the same as any filler to low spots and such very easy to use and sand but works just as well hope this helps if you try it.
Cracking work dave ! I'm going to apply these methods to my 100e build. What brands of filler are you using ? The second stage filler looks a dream to work with
@ Mmmm, - That could be “early onset hobbyism” Dave - (very common ha ha!) Lovely work as usual, on my very favourite model, so keep well and keep going my friend 👌
Panel gaps look spot on Dave the amount of work you did on that wing really paid off, looks better than original’s did!
Thanks Mick 😊
Can’t wait to see this drive out of your garage. Great work as always 👍🏻

Lovely job Dave, one take away from that is, don't bother with the rollers, so much better finish spraying.
Really enjoy the channel.

Brilliant video has always dave
Looking good Dave, still a lot of rubbing down to go yet, but like they say, it's all in the prep. 👍
I admire your patience. Looking very nice just in primer 👍🏻
Might want to go up and down with your speed file while it being horizontal also wear a mask !..keep up the good work
That's fantastic ....You’ve really been grafting and the results show tat it's been very worthwhile!
Great stuff as always Dave. You have great patience I bet you’re excellent at you day job 👍🏻👍🏻
The hard work it coming to the end now Dave, looking forward to the build 👍🏻👍🏻
I saw my dad do a few cars. He had that same eye for the details. It does show in the end.
Use the blue hardner on both fillers
Brilliant Dave, look forward to the next one.
Its all in the prep.....good work buddy, looking sharp

Thank you Richard
I feel your pain, I put about two and a half tubs of filler in my escort and sanded two off trying to get it right 😂
Looking nice Dave.
Great success once again

Thanks Derek, I'll check out Rusty Beauties. The Manta will make it back once the Escort is done
I had to watch this with sound turned off ( don't ask....!...) but it's looking good Dave...😊
I won't ask 😌

I'll use that for the very last stage, to grab pin holes and very small imperfections
Happy New year Dave.
you need to try the mohair 4" rollers. they leave a smoother finish and are ok with epoxy
Set ordered, be good to see how try work.
Hi Dave
Love your this series
Do you think using a laser with the auto levelling function locked off be useful when checking body lines?
All the best
I've seen others try this, but they struggle still.
Cracking work dave !
I'm going to apply these methods to my 100e build.
What brands of filler are you using ?
The second stage filler looks a dream to work with
"Amazing" filler, from the local paint suppliers
Happy new year for you. When to you want to roll Out the complete car this year Dave?
I try not to put deadlines on my projects. It takes the fun out if it for me.
I tried those expoxy rollers on a project i am working on - not a fan
👏👏👏👏👏👍👍👍👍👍
Dave you clearly don’t have arthritis in your knees ( yet) but look after them on that concretes floor buddy.
Yes that's my concern too, always throw a cushion/kneeler down Dave, we appreciate you.
Knee pads at least
It's the sane with the mask, I simply forget to do it, to ingrossed in the job at hand. You're right, though. I should put a pad down.
@ Mmmm, - That could be “early onset hobbyism” Dave - (very common ha ha!) Lovely work as usual, on my very favourite model, so keep well and keep going my friend 👌
A lot of sanding! I hate getting rid of all the filler dust before painting 😞
It's never ending 🤣
Swage not Swaze
Did I say Swaze lines 🤣🤣
