I have done my own research and your analysis is spot on! Ben Kiwanuka faced resistance from the Mengo establishment because of his religion (he was a Catholic while Mutesa and the Mengo Establishment in general were aligned to the Anglican Church) and also because his political ideology was about pushing for the interests of Uganda in general instead of Buganda only..which included national unity and democracy, yet the Mengo establishment wanted nothing to do with democracy and wanted to be the ones to choose who goes to Parliament in Buganda.

After listening to this analysis, I can confirm that I myself would side with mengo at that time.
I am sure even if Ben kiwanuka took power he would have done what Obote did because this was in pipeline by the whites and history would have it that buganda was attacked by its own ..I’m sure even today majority of baganda would choose an independent buganda from a unitary project of the whites called Uganda . As Baganda we have benefited nothing from this failed project.

Since the mpuuga's issues of corruption came out, all mengo institutions started to fighting Kyagulanyi directly as a way of showing their support to mpuuga's camp, but also bobiwine (my president) was wrong to come in public and call katikilo Mayiga with out giving him respect in public
