A pull-out switch, that’s a new one on me. I really like the color for some reason too. It’s really interesting to see the difference between the cut-corners GE and the incredible engineering and build quality of the SABA!

Cut Corners GE still much better than the current crap.

What a cute little radio! I’ve owned many different GE duel speaker table radios and never seen one with a pull out volume knob to turn on the radio. I’ve also never seen the volume control not set directly on the chassis like this set. Just when you think you’ve seen them all and here’s one very different to the norm that I had. Why is it that the cheap, ugly plastic tube radios play fine but yet a nicer radio set will have SMD.
Any hoot, thanks for the share there.

Hi Seth how are you. Always interesting in what you're doing its fun watching you do your hobbies. I know you probably already know this. The tuner ground on this radio is AVC and when the b minus is on the hot side instead of neutral, the AVC will be modulated by the raw ac from your fingers when you touch the tuner resulting in a 60 cycle modulation with the sound. Try avoid touching the radio when this happens it's a shock hazzard so reverse the plug when you hear this and try it again. I'm just wondering if it makes a difference

I have one in pink that belonged to a relative. It is in the future restoration collection. I am not really sure why anyone wants an aux. input with so many nice powered speakers out there. It would be easier to just use a cheap AM modulator for your whole collection. As noted even a direct input sound just ok, so why bother with it. I think keeping them original helps with the future value, which will increase. I believe modifications hurt the future value.

I had a late sold state 60s Magnavox radio and boosted twin speaker. Which I think is stupid to do as doesn't improve the sound quality. So id rather have one big speaker rather then two smaller ones

It's ironic that these newer sets sometimes decay faster because of cost-cutting.

This radio is a disaster waiting to happen. Silver Mica disease will cripple this radio after a few hours of playing it.
