Hi Eric, is there no need to protect the Gates belt? The belt is known to be vulnerable to lateral forces. Over time, this can lead to breakage. If someone stands on the box, as you show in video 2, it is not inconceivable that the belt could be hit. It might be better to temporarily remove the belt and store it in a safe place.
I always leave the low rider on the bike. But then I always use Tubus racks which are very strong. In case of a very small bikebox you have to take them off.

As for protecting the front fork with the front wheel removed (see video on 4:25), what do you suggest when using a low rider? Dismount?
