Two great artists together! I had the privilege of being present to watch a recording session where Mancini was recording a rhythm track for a movie score. It was a trio; Ray Brown was on bass, Shelly Manne was on drums. Mancini had hired another pianist so he could concentrate on producing. Mancini was a consummate professional, quiet and unassuming. He didn't like what the pianist was doing, but he gave the pianist three opportunities to play the part. Then he simply said "take five, guys." He walked quietly over to the contractor and unceremoniously indicated to let the pianist go. After the other pianist left, Mancini started the recording again, playing the piano part himself. What he played was absolutely perfect (naturally). I was already a great fan of Mancini and his music, but my respect for him went even higher that day.
Great insight on Mancini I am a busy working pianist I’m sure the pianist although upset grew to appreciate the non- spectacle of his release This live performance is stunning Two gifted artists
Whoah -- what authority, tone, lushness -- in one of the hardest songs to sing ever -- but he makes it sail -- with a vibrato to die for -- pure essence.
Magnificent.. Dreamsville one of my most favorite songs. sang it a thousand times.. Mancini ... how much better can it get ? sadly they're all gone. williams...great
Two great artists. Mancini play melodious always hiting clean and well balanced with some bops. Andy Wilians really know how to sing a such songs in a romantic and dramatic way. Nice voice. Hope you both are in a good situation now in the broad world.
I am aware it has been a love affair for a longtime. My love affair is with music. Since around age 14 this 73 year old pianist has been thrilled by his musical gift. He and a few others have inspired my career as a accompanist of fine singers. He was always the pinnacle for me. Always will be… God hasn’t made another one like him. How lucky have we all been to continue to share his gift? I say “blessed”
The way he held that last note that seemed to morph into a tone... Wow! I didn't even realize that it was his voice until he turned his head sharply to the right and the tone ended. I think he held that note from "stay" at 29.32.14 all the way to 29.53.22! That would be 21 seconds! Mr. Mancini watched it happen. But as a viewer, 40+ years later, I needed headphones and the replay button to fully appreciate his expertise and technique during this performance!

I'm not sure it gets any better than this.
It doesn’t/ this is perfection like most of his performances
Just PERFECT
Nice rendition. I was a fan of Andy Williams as a kid and forgot how good he really was.
