Some of the Hermits started their own create server a while back. Their cobble gen uses 0 drills and instead breaks blocks with a mechanical piston. It's pretty incredible.
Yep, using a bearing is also incredibly efficient, and if you time it with the generation of cobblestone for the maximum generation rate you can get ridiculous amounts
I thought zero drills was the standard for mid-late game cobble gen, was quite surprised that polartt is showing a drill setup as a 'late-game' cobble gen.
My buddies started playing Create just yesterday, they're absolutely gonna love this Finally having a quick tutorial for a cheap iron farm is great, doin the lord's work out here
At the risk of drawing out the video, I'd really like to see a timed timelapse next time where you gather and set up the early game version in survival and give us an idea of the time and effort needed. Day 1 seems very optimistic imo, just gathering that wool would take a fair bit of time :)
Another probably more cheaper way to do the cobble farm is to have a rotating platform make it break. When the platform moves it becomes an entity and if you have a set up where cobblestone forms, then you can basically make something that works very fast at a cheaper price. When the rotating blocks go back in place, it becones a block again, breaking the cobblestone that generated there.
You don't even need a rotating platform. Use a cart assembly with ice and water above some pumps. The ice briefly becomes an entity allowing for cobblestone to form above the pumps, and then when the ice reforms back to normal blocks, the cobblestone immediately breaks.
thanks for including the stress/rpm's for the different machines, that's something other tutorials don't provide in a good clear manner. I did see a fun compact machine I want to try, that's solid midgame, but including the early game one I thiiiink i might also do. just to get some resources starting to roll in.
cobble-gravel-sand works. so a contraption that creates all three types as well as clay blocks, stone, and glass. so you would have a building block storage
Many people said this already but imma go a little more into detail. Theres a way better cobble generation mechanism using pipes to make lava touch water, since its faster than having it flow by itself, and a mechanical piston that crashes a structure into the generated cobble, replacing it with said structure, making the cobble pop out
Hey Polartt, I think a good video idea is one on those stockpile switches and a good explanation of them. They seem quite complex and personally I don't understand them very well
Oh thanks for showing the mill grinder alternative. I always saw the crushing wheel being the only way and there isnt a nether fortress within 500 blocks in all directions of my portal, so thanks
Managed to create a simple temp filter by having a 1 block gap between the end of the belt and the chest, then used a lava bucket underneath said gap. Fill the chest with iron nuggets (or dirt until you have enough nuggets) and all the non-nuggets will get burnt.
iirc another extremely fast cobble farm design uses a radial chasis to to instantly break the cobble by flipping another layer of blocks into the cobblestone generator
So, I made the iron farm, but when I went to power everything and using a rotation speed controller to get the rotation to -64 it breaks certain gears, is there any way to prevent that at all?
added the schematic, went blank, forget everything i had learned in the past 3 days , dont know how to turn it on. help advanced one, without the boilers
Hey. A quick couple of questions on the advanced iron farm. Did you set it up so that the cart rotation is locked? Also, how did you get the redstone link onto the cart assembler?
I made a lava trash sytem with a grabber, and i didnt know it takes items from nearby chests, and i just knew it was burning all of my hard worked ores and treasures for the past 3hrs of gameplay, it really sucks on why they added a 2 block radius for the grabber to take items to throw
I am amazed by that level of iron production, but honestly if you're just doing a standard world, when would you need that much iron? I just make a simple one a couple days into the game and I never run short. I'm so busy setting up other things and gathering other materials that I never run out of iron.
Loved the video @polartt! Can't wait for the next video man! I remember @TangoTek building a Cobblestone Generator on his Create Mod Server with @Keralis, @ZedaphPlays, @GoodTimeswithScar and @Bdouble00 where he just breaks the Blocks by moving the Glass Blocks by the Water and the Lava Pumps back and forth. They pop up on the Water and get Washed down into a Line of Chests that then Funnel down into an Item Vault where it then gets Loaded onto one of Keralis' Trains for the Central Factory Area. It's very Interesting to look at that and maybe see how much Iron you can get from something like that!
I think a crude way to simply the early game one is to fill every slot in a double chest with one nugget negating the need for that precision timing and that belt altogether
If you're running tinkers you could always make an iron golem farm that feeds them into a Tinker's smeltery. That's what I'm using for my Create Above and Beyond playthrough.
Thats a decent midgame option, but there is a far superior way to get loads of iron fast. I forgot the name of the block, but place lava and water next to it and it generates cobblestone about as fast as a regular generator will. however, the cobblestone is generated as a item, not a block. Not only that, but it can be upgrades with modules to generate the cobble much faster than normal. Feed the cobble to a gindwheel setup, and sell the flint for a quick profit. If you cant sell it raw try making a wood and chicken farm to turn them into arrows, which you can sell.
@@thegameranch5935 Compared to Create or Applied Energetics it is baby stuff... I'd argue Tinkers is about the same complexity as vanilla enchanting/trading.

You could actually make the cobblestone generator faster using a minecart assembler, pumps, pipes, a tank of lava, and a redstone clock. It is really fast.

you can break cobble by having a contraption replace itself, instantly breaking the cobblestone in the same blocks.

fyi you can just waterlog the mechanical drills instead of using the minecart contraption
What do i need to do after i placed the scamatic (the decorated one) because i gave it wood but the contraption isnt moving
