- We got a couple of nice days again so we knocked down the remaining of 2nd cut for silage. We're still waiting for right conditions to finish our 1st cut hay.

Farmer's POV (Point of View) is a channel where I share videos of different chores that are going on on our small family farm in Slovenia. We have 60 heads of cattle, mainly simmetal breed and we milk about 35 of them. We farm in a fairly hilly area so our equipment is relatively small. Currently we own 4 tractors: Fiat DT55-56, New Holland TN70DA, Deutz Fahr Agroplus 85 and John Deere 5085M. We work around 20 hectares of mainly grass fields and about 2,5 hectares for silage corn. We also have 7 hectares of forest.

Awesome video Gasper such a busy time for you it must be long days for you feeding cows milking cows and doing silage You're summer pit is well full and a fine amount in the fourth pit How long would you leave the summer pit before you can start feeding it to the cow's You do pretty amazing work their Gasper on you're farm and on you're videos always a joy to watch Thank you

I am a farmer doing research before I go into my adventure I can't decide on pit silage or bale silage or both. How did your farm make your decision
I guess you have to try both to see what works best for you. We decided for pit silage because we can utilize our loading wagon more and don't have to own a baler, the feed is more consistent and its easier to load the mixer from the pit. Its also easier on the mixer, bales seem to be hard to mix.

Pelo q estou vendo a grama nao é finamente moida , aqui no brasil dizem q tem q ser bem picado mas esrou vendo q sua silagem de grama fica boa com particulas grandes. Pode me falar um pouco sobre isso? Parabens e muito obrigado por compartilhar
Well its not chopped by the forage harvester but its still cut to around 5 centimeters.

@@farmerspov4709 sem mislil, da ima več. Drugač poznam primere ko so kosil spredaj 250 pa zadaj 165 s 70konjskim traktorejm pa 3 cilinderski motor😂🤦. Je šlo, sam bolj počas😂.

Better feed and easier to feed from a silo for us.

Yes but then I compact with JD, if I had the roller on the back of the JD then I couldn't compact all the way to the back silo wall.
