An amazing story of a rescued baby elephant and her Mahout

- It was in October last year when Durga - three-month-old elephant calf -- lost her way after the herd she was moving with was attacked by honey bees. She was badly injured and for days after the near-fatal bee attack, she roamed around, in pain, looking for her family. The incident happened in the forests of Bijnaur, nearly 450 kms from Uttar Pradesh’s capital Lucknow.

The smile and innocence that owner had on his face towards the baby is heartwarming

An elephant died in Kerala Godi media was looking for muslim connection.
@Mahesh Tambe the culprit was indeed a muslim what’s wrong is wrong but opposite to that here a man is so loving towards the same animal. Alas some people will spew venom related to politics everywhere when the video was clearly only about compassion towards animal not about religion.

Why are the other chained up on a short chain they can’t move around.
even dogs are tied in house here we are talking about elephant ,in ancient India they were used for war.Just imagine if a small elephant can crush glasses an adult can crush many men or even houses under its foot. This can be even due to a small fly or mosquito in their ear. I am sure they take elephants on errands but even their naughty and funny actions are a threat due to their large size.Besides its only one leg bound to a single chain tied to a thick wood any elephant can uproot that chain. This is a traditional trick used here .No zoo no 4-5 chains only one .They have more freedom than horses in stables...
Chains are there for our safety ...
Why is it even necessary to chain them up ? One chain or multiple chains? They are supposed to roam free . For their safety ?
How about keeping people chained up the sane way just to make them understand how it feels ?
Malabika kulkarni People are chained to their office chairs, they are allowed to roam only on breaks. It’s the the same for the elephants.
@@globalcitizenn 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 chained to office chairs?!?!
You can't imagine the havoc elephants are capable of during their plays hence the chains are important. They are living in a limited space, that's why it's important to have some limits.

As mentioned in earlier comments they are taken on safari rides..
@@rucha3385 if u think in that way it seems okay.but leaving them alone is lot better than creating a safari with them, maybe they're running safari for funds.
@@vkushal We could have left them alone a few centuries back but now we cannot they can be poached, hunted ,get infected ,their forests destroyed for making our own housing societies etc.We pet dogs, cats and now we have come to a point where we can leave them without a leash but if we would have lived with lions trained them then they would still have been "Kings" while simple species like dogs and cats grow in number the more dangerous ones are decreasing all i mean to say is we need to start living with them now and they need to get used to us ..we can rarely guarantee them that there houses(forests) are safe..
We destroyed their homes now we need to make new homes for them (includes dogs, cats, birds etc...)

Ok....so ppl who r over n over throwing hate comments on chaining the elephant or asking why??? Here is question u found a injured abandoned tiger n u wanna help him care for him nurse n u feel chaining them is cruel. So I go ahead catch the tiger without chaining it n giving any safety to ppl around u Start the treatment. The tiger who is scared n doesn't trust u how wud he react???? So my dear frnds the whole purpose of chaining these adorable but lets not forget giant creatures is safety...n when u ask how?? 1. A scared elephant even if is baby is capable of killing an adult human coz they r scared n they dont trust the stranger.
2. In case they wander off without those chains they can easily be targets to bullying, poachers n few psychopaths who abuse animals.
3. In case u don't know the org in this vdo is very small n cannot provide for a free huge land for them to roam or send search parties in case any elephant goes missing. So this is the best way to keep the elephant in the safe vicinity.
4. The elephants look happy n are even loved when they break things or steal food so this one lil compromise is OKAY...
IF U HAVE TO CHOOSE BETWEEN SAFETY N COMFORT OF UR LOVED ONES M SURE U WUD CHOOSE SAFETY N FOR COMFORT THEM WITH LOTS OF LOVE.... Like these guys r giving stop judging them.

On one side you are showing this story and in the background you can see the other elephants tied by chains. This is wrong. Just wrong.
Obviously they are not hiding it. I am sure they have their reason.
@@khannahhaasan9582 they are not hiding it but the biggest problem is the fact that these beautiful animals don't deserve to be chained, they belong in the wild. An elephant can not be contained by chains, their spirits are broken for that. See some videos of how an elephant is broken and you will not support a smiling mahut again.
@Ayushman Tiwari You seriously amaze me. Thanks for showing the standard of your intellect.

Why you tie them ???

@Ayushman Tiwari I am not talking about, acknowledging, supporting or discouraging a religion and its customs here. I am purely talking about the animals being chained up here. Don't give a religious twist to everything. I am really sorry to see how narrow your thinking is.
Both these gentleman radiate such a positive energy. They seem so happy to talk about Durga, like their own daughter.

जो जानवरो को सिर्फ एक मशीन समझते है वो इस धरती पर बोझ है और नर्क में उनका इंतजार कोई कर रहा है।
Sad, that all the other elephants are in chains.
They are very territorial if guest comes they should be chained to make them remember that they shouldn't move.. guest can be attacked if he doesnt know how to behave. So for safety they chain elephant.. and it's not tough for an elephant to break that silly chain.. stupid.. it's to keep uneducated guest from being harmed..
@T S u don't have knowledge and talking about IQ
@T S lol do you even know how a elephant can kill a person with just one leg and the chain is just in it's one leg and if the elephant tries to break it then he can because its very for them.
@T S what I am not a lier you don't even know anything about elephants

They must be I'll or something , and needs special treatments that's why there are doctors .
Bro its just that they don't go far away or as you heard she brokes things so the bigger animals are uncontrollable!
Pleeeese take away the chains. Elephants have no dignity with them. How would the humans feel? THINK
hum kisi bhi zoo ya national park kahi bhi visit kre to in servant ko respect kro jo ye sare animals ko sambhalte hai....respect to all servants who care Animals...
This is a wonderful story. However, I cannot help to see that these very "social" animals are not socializing. Why are they in chains with all those Mahouts around. Seems like there are sufficient individuals that could monitor them in the event there is an issue. The swaying would stop if they were allowed to be social. Just putting it out there.... *social = happy = cooperative!
Yes, they should probably be allowed more interaction with each other
Every living thing craves freedom. Humans take it away from every creature we can, even our own species.
Kitna saral insaan hai ye aise log bahot kam ho gaye hai duniya mein.
A genuine question, I saw all the big elephant are tied up. Is it just for few moments/hours or they do it like a zoo/circus? I hope and would like to believe that it's temporary, they take the shackles off as soon as they are done with lunch. It's an amazing feeling seeing the smile on the face of all of them.
Why do you chain the poor large elephants. The elephant sanctuaries like the David Sheldrick foundation iAfrica and the one in Thailand do not chain the legs of their elephants. Very very sad to see.
@Heiwajima Shizuo That is a very poor reason. If in Africa the areas are very large than if an elephant goes away it would be even more trouble to locate that elephant. I feel you people are being dishonest and using the elephants for your own benefit and to get money. Please be honest.
@Heiwajima Shizuo dogs are different, because they're domesticated. Elephants are wild animals and no animal should be constantly chained, regardless of type or the part of the world they're from. How would YOU like to be chained up all day, or even just while you eat?
Aap ki smile se pata chalata hai aap kitna pyar karte ho Durga se. Love u ❤😘
Why the elephants are chained .. please let them live freely.
They'll stomp you
@Ismail Hassan I have been following Sheldrick Wildlife Trust for quite some time now. They rescue and rehabilitate orphan baby elephants. Often they engage with wild elephants as well. Never saw any elephant in chains there.
@@shifahaidry This is India not USA. We've been doing this for thousands of years. Indian Mahouts(elephant handlers) fought wars in Anatolia 2600 years ago for Iranian Emperors.
@@jimmylives Sheldrick Wildlife Trust is not in USA, it is in Kenya. Secondly, ancient does not automatically mean correct. I think chaining wild animals can never be justified. Apparently people do not like to eat animals but they don't have any problem with chaining them. Anyways, it is just my personal opinion.
It's just a small space..in bigger parks with strong boundaries they can unchain them...but here it's risky

Can you see the misery of the chained animals? Why are they so cruel to them?
Please.... Stop chains !
If they were not chained then maybe they would enter into farms while grazing and I assure you that not all villagers are good like these people instead in this park they are feeded properly you can see their physique they seemed healthy to me unlike those circus elephants plus many people who are followers of 'Lord Ganesh (elephant god in hindu mythology)' gives them food and treat them as some kind of god they even take blessings from them (sounds stupid but that's how our religion works).
They also have routine checkups
दुर्गा भागयशाली है, जो सही हाथों और अच्छे प्यार करने वाले लोगों को मिली। 🙏
People who are worried about chained elephants. It's elephant camp where they take care of injured and ill ones. Usually they will be setup near to the forest. If they are not chained they won't be able to manage them. It's same like how you keep your pet. They do take them for walks and keep their physical activity unbothered. If they are left freely they might enter deep forest and survival for these animals is difficult. And considering the amount of space required for an elephant to roam is almost 500sq km of forest which is practically impossible for them to create virtually. Keeping all that in mind they have kept this way. The way wild needs to be treated is totally changes because of our own interventions.
Bhagwaan aapko hmesha khush rkhe. Inn masum jivo ki raksha aur suraksha k liye inka palan poshan aur khyaal rkhna k liye .
