5:25 wait until you hear Matt do a Gregorian chant, or whistle an intro, or stop in the middle of a rock song to do a Rachmaninoff cover, or quote Shakespeare or finish an album with a three part symphony. They're quite versatile.

The guitar effect you mentioned in the 2nd half of the song is the "reverse" effect. Whatever you play is fed through the pedal and the sound is played in reverse. There's a delay on the effect so it's incredibly difficult to make sound good.
One of the last true arena rock bands.

Muse have incorporated a lot of musical genrens from classical to rock to metal to grunge to techno and pop and flawlessly incorporated them
into their own style.
When I hear Muse I hear,Pink Floyd,George Michael,Queen,Chopin,U2 and many more influences but to the point that it's just short of copying them
and in a very respectable manner.
I think Muse is a formidable band that pays hommage to all of the great musicians that came before them
and have found a way to share all of those influences with the later generations.
Besides all of that they are a band that carry out a strong,empathic,message to make people think about the world we live in.
They are i.m.o. bringers of awakeness.

Their live shows are so much fun. I did alot of that jumping up and down as did a majority of the audience in Philly at the Electric Factory back in 2006.

I took my then 14 year old son to this show. What an amazing, small venue to see such an incredible band.
