I have grown up in MK. I don't drink, but I did drive a Taxi for a couple of years, so got to see all of these places. It makes me feel sad to see what has been lost, and what it has been replaced with
I remember going to Razzels in Bletchley in the late eighties, usually some trouble! Austens 2000 was a good club and then The Spice Room upstairs in Golden Flamingos late nineties when Trance music became really popular....
The Rusty Duck was just a local nickname for the Golden Flamingo btw Nice vid though, forgot some of these. Didn't see the Square on this list. That was where the talent was!
Crazy, I DJed and hosted in 90% of these venues from the age of 13/14. Some very good memories!!! I was just about to say 'no Sanctuary' then it came up 🙂
MK Council only seem to be interested in building new homes with little infrastructure or leisure facilities to cater for the influx of people. It's extremely short sighted in my opinion.
My first local was the Suffolk punch in heelands for 10 years then l moved to walshes Manor and the pilgrims bottle till that closed now hayleys comet but I must say I've had a pint in 95%of the pubs shown mk used to be a great place to drink, the point Austins the barn was popular back in the day duke's a⁶nd the zoo bar what a Shame for the next generation
Fat Tuesdays, Happy Wednesdays were both just events held at Zazoos (I think) and the Rusty Duck was just slang for Golden Flamingos. There sure have been a lot of losses and changes over the years
@@TimeEmotion1971 Did you hear the rumour on how The Suffolk Punch closed its doors? I'm told (no idea of the truth) that the owner slighted a certain group of travelling folk. Who later, came back and took his arm off (literally) by way of thanks. (just thought that might interest you)
Kilrush is technically not gone just evolved into pink punters, the same owners, still going strong

Interesting!
You can add the Newport arms and Green man, which were both in Newport Pagnell. Also at Linford lakes there was the Marle Inn.

The same fate across the entire country. Cities and Towns have been stripped of life, replaced with knife crime and drug dealing.Sad
