Saw her live at Hyde park this weekend, she’s got the Most angelic voice ever. I was blown away it really was insane!!! I’ve realised that videos do not do her justice she sounds even better in person (I don’t know how it’s possible)
It happens with people with unique voices or styles. Some artist I’ve seen that sound way better live than videos: Lana,phoebe Bridgers, the pretty reckless, Louis Tomlinson, Coldplay, and Taylor swift(years ago). One thing they all have in common is that none are known as great vocalists-they don’t have super powerful voices, can be flat on rare occasion, and sometimes sound meh in videos, but they’re all unique in one or more ways. So live it’s like entering heaven. And I’d see people like these over cookie cutter artists that have super powerful voices but sound a lot like many other singers. Plus, people who aren’t born with insanely powerful voices are forced to focus on improving the art and songwriting- they can’t just rely on their pipes
Lana del Rey is completely baroque. Her serious and sad lyrics are accompanied by sexy images and backdrops, and her sexy lyrics are accompanied by serious sad images. Only then (!!) can we understand Lana, only then is everything explained. Lana is a goddess
Lana is always glorious. The minute she gets on stage she is treated with so much love, she really is overwhelmed by that. Her concerts are always special, like her..Lana is so special, we must protect her at all costs.
Performing can become so easy for some it becomes like acting, I think Lana did so great giving raw vulnerable emotion that what other people see in her she may not even see it fully in herself and there is something very human to that ❤
My favourite live performance of Born to Die is from the Mulberry Session. She was phenomenal on that (and seemed a lot more relaxed)! I prefer it over the studio version. But this performance was great, too.
I saw her too at Hyde Park and was completely blown away with her voice, her presence and the music in general. It really doesnt translate in many of the videos ive seen of her, the whole experience was magical to be honest.

You hit the nail on the head. Nerves and anxiety often affect Lana's voice (and staying in tune). Couldn't agree with you more about the "interpretive dancers" (On "Bartender", the 'choreography' is just silly). They don't add much to the show (and sometimes detract). If their presence helps Lana feel more relaxed onstage, that's a good thing😊
It literally breaks my heart into pieces Lana is so anxiety stricken in this moment, and that it affected her performance! Her body language and you can hear the pain especially in her voice. Prayers for Lana Del Rey😢❤
Saw her last Sunday at Hyde park much better performance was reaching the notes, and was clearly more relaxed than anxious. And cracked jokes about Glastonbury ❤
I think dancing has nothing to do with Lana's music. I was hopping she would give it up in this tour. DYKTTATUOB is such an intimate album. The best tour in my opinion was the Paradise tour. Her vocals were great, the band, the stage... These big crowds and production make her really uncomfortable and some of the quality we hear in the albums gets lost. But she's my favorite composer. I really admire her work.
I just went to listen to the entire performance of this song. I agree with everything you said - the dance choreography didn't fit at all. But she sang well. And I relate so much to her anxiety standing in the way! I myself struggle with crippling stage anxiety and it is extremely frustrating and defeating 😩
You're so spot on with this performance. I love Lana, but she is very unpredictable and inconsistent live, unfortunately. I appreciate that you don't gloss over all the negative. Although you're still a bit too nice regarding this specific performance.

I didn't like this performance. I remember how I really enjoyed hearing her live in 2012-2014 but now she just sounds tired, slow (like she's lazy to articulate), changing the melodies all the time... It's not a good performance for a big festival in my opinion. Maybe for mumbling the song while you are washing dishes

But after you falsely accused Halle Bailey of lip syncing her live "Part of Your World" performance, I kind of take everything you say with a grain of salt now. And the fact that you still haven't corrected that in your video, or addressed it just makes the whole thing even weirder.

Lana has one of the most beautiful voices I have ever heard. Having seen her live three times I can say she has the most beautiful live voice.
She sounds so unique, you could never mistake another artist for her. Her tone and vibrato are amazing. She's one of a kind
her live vocals have improved so much! Cherry and Candy necklace are two of her best live songs.
I'm obsessed with Candy Necklace and seeing videos of her singing it live makes me love it even more 💖
