And dongeun felt sohee's presence at that moment and cried because she realized that sohee have always been with her and protected her. At the same time doneun felt sympathy because she knew sohees spirit still exist in suffering.

They are connected to the spirit they honor or even other spirits can visit and take over the body of shaman. The amulet paper dropped on the top of the Yeonjin's mom was for 'the protector of the West'. So the best guess is 'the spirit of the west' got angry about the shaman helping Yeonjin's mom to kill someone. So it punished the shaman or stopped to protect her from other spirits' attacks.
Please don't feel bad for those bullies, those girls even as a joke. They are actually criminals, worse than bullies causing extreme physical pain & mental trauma to innocent people without any guilt whatsoever till the last moment.

You could really tell the difference in how Yeon Jin and her husband felt about their daughter. Her husband always referred to the daughter as something precious, invigorating: “princess”, “treasure”, “daddy’s vitamin” (this is probably a translation thing so maybe it was something similar but affectionate”). Yeon Jin referred to her daughter as a puppy, she sees her daughter as a pet rather than a child. As something cute she can show off but when Yeon Jin tried to take away the computer so her daughter couldn’t see the video, it was too late. Yeon Jin realized that despite being a child, her daughter has a mind of her own. She isn’t a plaything.
Moon had always said that heaven is not on her side and she is unlucky. This part shows that there IS divine intervention. The shaman was paid by Moon to put on a show, but who would know that it turned real when So Hee actually turned up. That's when Moon knew So Hee had been by her side all along. Along the way Moon also had different people helping her without asking for repayment, from her landlord, the curly haired girl, her colleague who gave her Ye Sol's photos. I think it was the writer's way of showing that while bad, powerful people might look like they don't always get punished, but somehow karma will always find a way, sooner or later.

The shaman thing is real (per this show sorry if you don’t believe in this and may be offended). The whole point is that the shaman is speaking with the dead (So-Hee/girl from the roof) to relay a message. It helped that Yeonjin was there to witness So-Hee speaking to her and so So-Hee could let Yeonjin know about her. (Sorry for the bad wording I’m really strugglin here to explain 😭). Which is why right after the Shaman dies from the curse thing there’s a wave of wind that goes past Dong-eun, cause it’s So-Hee. Which just calls back to Dong-Eun sayin that she always felt that So-Hee was there and kept her goin. Cause she like actually was type shit. 🤞🏼
My absolute favorite thing about this show is realizing that Moon Dong-Eun only had to set the stage and watch from the rafter’s as they all destroyed each other. She made little moves here and there so that there was just enough room for chaos. And after learning about the game of Go, it is symbolically clear perfection.

I think during the shaman scene, Dong Eun originally asked for the ceremony to be done bc she knew Yeon Jin would come (and it would freak her out). Dong Eun didn’t expect that So Hee would actually ‘be’ there, and even brought death upon the shaman. Dong Eun cried bc perhaps for the first time in her life, she felt God being on her side. This moment was also being teased & discussed by the director during a press conference!

By 2:24, it was shaman's possessed acting baesed on given information from dong-eun(so, dong-eun has no face expresion), but after this, the shaman was actually possessed by the burned girl(so, dong-eun has a confused face expression). The paper on yeon-jin mom' face is a kind of charm which allows the dead to abandon their attachments and go to the realm of paradise. But yeon-jin mom is alive, and that implies bad things will be happened to yeon-jin mom.
30:00 this is my favorite scene of the entire show. The music, the way happy dongeun disappears slowly, also the fact that she was friends with gyeongran(yeonjin's assistant) before she started getting bullied. It's so heartbreaking yet so beautiful.
Context on the shaman scene: The shaman is performing a traditional Korean shamanism ritual where they can see and communicate with a deceased spirit. The shaman impersonates So-Hee w/ the script and scenario given by Dong-eun, which in itself is blasphemous (to pretend to be a spirit/the dead) during the ritual she actually sees So-hee; she can smell rotting flesh (b/c she's dead), her body was covered in burn marks like Dong-eun, and her skull caved in (from the fall) in which *boeljon* was her final verdict; a death punishment b/c she impersonated the deceased which led to Dong-Eun crying b/c that meant So-Hee was beside her all along.
Guys theres a theory- The official posters that were released shows moon touching diff parts of every bully. She took away the part that tormented/bullied her. For eg: In the poster moon was choking flight attendant. Though she wasn't an active participant of the violence but she used to talk & degrade moon a lot So she took her speech away
23:40 what they were trying to show in that scene was that jae-jun raped the girl who died, they showed him looking unphased at myeong-o SAing Dong-Eun (because he does that too), when Dong-Eun finds that out she changes plans for him, he was never going to achieve custody and that was going to be his punishment, upon finding out he was SAing the dead girl she gave the pretty girl (haven’t watched in awhile so forgetting some names lol) the stuff to put in his eye drops
Even though it was actually never explained in the show, I think Eundong paid off the shaman to fake it for the initial outburst as you can see from her dead pan expression. But then the shaman's second outburst and "punishment" was unplanned and completely caught Eundong off guard as she looks completely shocked, insinuating that at least the second one was real.
25:30 You have seen Do-Yeong’s mother before in episode 2. Remember she visits Jae-Jun’s golf club and when Jae-Jun proudly chirps about how his club has the country’s best greens for golfing, she shrugs it off saying that one can go anywhere for good exercise and leisure; instead, she backhandedly praises the dumplings they had at the club café. The seal that fell on the mother's face is a sacred name of a spirit like one of the Gods the shaman channels through. The symbolism of it falling down is that the mother lost the protection because of what the shaman did in helping her commit a crime and covering it up. Using your gift for corrupt reasons is punishable by the Gods and this is what happened to her, the shaman was punished and all the protection she gave to Yeon-jin's family is gone.

Let me explain a little. Dong-eun wanted to see Yeon-jin's reaction and put pressure on her, so she paid a shaman to do a fake act. That's the first part. And then in the second part, Sohee's real appearance was shown to the shaman. That's not what Dong-eun expected, and that's why Dong-eun reacted very surprised. And the reason why the shaman died can be interpreted as punishment for fake acting in exchange for money.

My absolute favorite thing about this show is realizing that Moon Dong-Eun only had to set the stage and watch from the rafter’s as they all destroyed each other. She made little moves here and there so that there was just enough room for chaos. And after learning about the game of Go, it is symbolically clear perfection.
The slaps and the fight on funeral are the most satisfying scene in the whole season...

I think during the shaman scene, Dong Eun originally asked for the ceremony to be done bc she knew Yeon Jin would come (and it would freak her out). Dong Eun didn’t expect that So Hee would actually ‘be’ there, and even brought death upon the shaman. Dong Eun cried bc perhaps for the first time in her life, she felt God being on her side. This moment was also being teased & discussed by the director during a press conference!

By 2:24, it was shaman's possessed acting baesed on given information from dong-eun(so, dong-eun has no face expresion), but after this, the shaman was actually possessed by the burned girl(so, dong-eun has a confused face expression). The paper on yeon-jin mom' face is a kind of charm which allows the dead to abandon their attachments and go to the realm of paradise. But yeon-jin mom is alive, and that implies bad things will be happened to yeon-jin mom.

30:00 this is my favorite scene of the entire show. The music, the way happy dongeun disappears slowly, also the fact that she was friends with gyeongran(yeonjin's assistant) before she started getting bullied. It's so heartbreaking yet so beautiful.
Context on the shaman scene:
The shaman is performing a traditional Korean shamanism ritual where they can see and communicate with a deceased spirit. The shaman impersonates So-Hee w/ the script and scenario given by Dong-eun, which in itself is blasphemous (to pretend to be a spirit/the dead) during the ritual she actually sees So-hee; she can smell rotting flesh (b/c she's dead), her body was covered in burn marks like Dong-eun, and her skull caved in (from the fall) in which *boeljon* was her final verdict; a death punishment b/c she impersonated the deceased which led to Dong-Eun crying b/c that meant So-Hee was beside her all along.
If you want to see a movie about Korean shamanism that's damn near psychological, I recommend, *The Wailing* by Na Hong-Jin.

Even though it was actually never explained in the show, I think Eundong paid off the shaman to fake it for the initial outburst as you can see from her dead pan expression. But then the shaman's second outburst and "punishment" was unplanned and completely caught Eundong off guard as she looks completely shocked, insinuating that at least the second one was real.
25:30 You have seen Do-Yeong’s mother before in episode 2. Remember she visits Jae-Jun’s golf club and when Jae-Jun proudly chirps about how his club has the country’s best greens for golfing, she shrugs it off saying that one can go anywhere for good exercise and leisure; instead, she backhandedly praises the dumplings they had at the club café. This pissed Jae-Jun off, even more so when the other lady introduces her as the mother of the CEO of JaePyeong Construction (implying that she’s also the mother of the man who Yeon-jin ultimately married), and so he asks the manager under him to stop selling those dumplings😭

The seal that fell on the mother's face is a sacred name of a spirit like one of the Gods the shaman channels through. The symbolism of it falling down is that the mother lost the protection because of what the shaman did in helping her commit a crime and covering it up. Using your gift for corrupt reasons is punishable by the Gods and this is what happened to her, the shaman was punished and all the protection she gave to Yeon-jin's family is gone.

Let me explain a little.
Dong-eun wanted to see Yeon-jin's reaction and put pressure on her, so she paid a shaman to do a fake act. That's the first part.
And then in the second part, Sohee's real appearance was shown to the shaman. That's not what Dong-eun expected, and that's why Dong-eun reacted very surprised.
And the reason why the shaman died can be interpreted as punishment for fake acting in exchange for money.
