Defender of ignorant and careless city dwellers coming to the desert I am not; defender and celebrator of this couple I definitely am. Bob and Judy Wold are not the norm - unfortunately - they are the exception, and there are other exceptions too. I've witnessed these two boomers reclaim this scalped property with painstaking, hands-on learning and love for over twenty years. Look to mature urban people to enhance, not destroy, the living desert, and to teach the young ones by example that you can have money, sensitivity, and respect for every living thing at the same time. I am so proud of you guys!!

Thank you for not just trying to make a cash and dash run. I'm on Copper Mountain Mesa and I know Caliche. We need more folks like you.

That's wonderful! Judy, you should have tours for people interested in doing the same - though this video is wonderful!

Love your example and commitment. I also am thinking of land around the area to build a small sustainable dwelling that I can turn into a beautiful oasis of a native food forest and native produce. So redeeming to see what you have done.

This is totally inspirational and helpful information. I hope I can meet you folks one day and ask some questions before I start in on my own half-acre in Joshua Tree. Beautiful job!

I want to do the same thing in this area. Can you make a recommendation of a really good real estate agent to help me find a spot like this?
