綜觀中國傳統文化，喪葬是五禮之一，歷史悠久。中國的喪葬禮俗涵蓋大量儀式、用具、祭品、服飾、術語、規章及禁忌等，由香港華人輾轉相傳，再經過本土化發展，成為今天一項重要的非物質文化遺產。本講座期望打破禁忌，內容以現時常見的香港華人喪葬禮俗和儀式為主，討論中國傳統的孝道及長幼有序的觀念，彰顯慎終追遠的中國傳統文化，以及掌握本港華人喪葬禮俗的基本知識，瞭解背後的文化意義，從而反思生命的價值，解答人生意義。
This talk is about the common Chinese funeral rituals of Hong Kong, which aims to chip away taboos. In accordance with the Chinese traditional values, the discussion on funeral rituals will mainly centre on filial piety. This talk will serve as an opportunity for secondary students to grasp the basic knowledge and the cultural significance of Hong Kong Chinese traditional funeral rituals to help them find out the meaning of life.
