REMINGTON 710 IN 270 cal. BOYDS AT-ONE THUMBHOLE. 710 AT-ONE SKY LAMINATE. ITS A PRETTY BLUE. I've had it for a year and a half maybe two and I absolutely love it, it went together rather easy I might add. I've been watching your tubes for a long time now. Probably since you started putting them out there, love watching your progress. And the progression of the fun tools and lathes you've been able to add to the shop. I enjoy all the tech talks as well. I've only been able to shoot it about 150 times, I do in fact love the less recoil it has. It lessened it by far from the plastic composite it came with 44 years ago, Lol. Keep having fun with the channel. Love the technical aspects and keep up with going after those sponsors I love hearing and watching for some of that new stuff that's out there. Some of it's not new to me but some of it is. Good job.
Love the video! I have a Savage 93R 17hmr bolt action bull barrel rifle I wrapped my barrel and receiver with the 2 amendment full color American flag gunskins vinyl wrap and I put a good picatinny rail with fully adjustable blue anodized scope rings and put a 4 x 16 x 44 scope with sunshade on it and it all is sitting in a beautiful Boyd Stock that is their blue Spike camp thumb hole stock and I added a 6 to 9 inch bi-pod. I absolutely love my set up and it performs exactly as I was hoping for. This is one of my absolute favorite bolt action rifles to shoot. I'm very happy. I thank God for our 2A rights! God bless you and hope you do more videos with the Boyd stocks.
That is clean .. I have not always been a wood stock look but this one has a look to it that may change my mind. Mostly its the grey and orange that get me.
Plus bedding, plus modifying for recoil lug, plus widening the barrel channel, plus new thinker pillars. The stock is now like a blank for a custom shop job
Excellent video! I just glass bedded (Pro-Bed 2000) my Remington 783 chambered in 30-06 (long action) to a Boyd's at-one thumbhole (with aluminum pillar bedding) in pepper laminate. Richard from Boyd's sent me the link to this video to check out your build. I will be publishing a video of my own soon. Very happy with how it turned out!
I’m running a Boyd’s At One on a Ruger 10/22 with a Kidd barrel and a Pro Varmint on CZ 452-2E ZKM. I have an Agility in the cart for a Remington 700 22-250 project. Perfect timing on this video.
I have a few of them. A couple of Mauser 98's, and a couple of Ruger Americans. Love how the look, feel and make the rifles shoot much better. Excellent video!
I've used Boyd's stocks in 2 rifles now. One is the AT- One on a custom 1942 Turkish Mauser rechambered in 6.5x55, and the other is an AT- One thumbhole in a Marlin 917 VXR 17HMR. Can't say anything bad about either!
I really like the look of this BOYD stock. I am researching a 6.5 Creedmore build and want a more traditional rifle look. Now I just need to pick my starting point for an action and barrel. Thanks for doing these kinds of videos.
I just bought my Boyd’s Prairie gunstock that I’ve been wanting for 3 years and i finally had the money to but it. Im excited! I have a savage axis 22-250 with a Nikon monarch 3 scope. Budget build that’s within 1in at 100yrds
Running a Boyd’s At-One in Forest Camo. Barreled action is a Ruger American Predator, shooting 140 GR. Seller & Belliot FMJ and Hornday ELDM for plinking matches and hunting.
I have a Savage 93 in 17HMR that I put into a Boyd's At One stock. It's a varmint/farm gun. I live on the border of 2 rather large farms, and the owners are more than happy to let me take out foxes, crows, rabbits at will to help them out. Just this summer alone it's dropped almost a dozen ground hogs. It's a pretty low cost set up, but it has no problem taking care of the fields around me.
I got a Boyd Thumbhole stock in pepper laminated for my Oberndorf Mauser action in combination with a premium XX- Douglas barrel in .416 Taylor. Boyd's stocks are brilliant, well built and require very little additional work. Depending on the caliber you might want to put in a recoil lug, especially in the heavier, recoiling rounds.
little bit of a warning, if you are planning to get a Boyds stock for a ruger american, you have to bed in the V pillars yourself. Those ones arent as drop in as others
S&W i-Bolt 30-06. (I know) Boyd's AT-One for a Rem 700 in Black Pepper. Dropped right in with no fuss. Arken SH4. That stock really solidified the rifle and improved groups to about an inch. I'm sure the gun shoots better than I do.
I got an “At One” Boyd’s stock for my 17WSM. It is beautiful, and I’ve had Boyd’s stocks before, so I was aware of the possibility of “minor alterations may need to be done for proper fit”, as stated by Boyd’s. That said, the At One seemed to be rushed, no small amount of anything would allow the magazine to lock in, or even fit. The stock had two hairline cracks that I did not notice until it was too late (my fault for not inspecting more thoroughly) I would completely trust Boyd’s for such a common rifle as the REM 700, not so much for a B-mag stock. I have a beautiful doorstop and conversation piece though
.224 Valkyrie! Wow I forgot that caliber even existed. Seemed to disappear as fast as it came for the most part. I digress. Boyds stocks are awesome. You really can't beat 'em for the money, and the amount of customization you can do is wild.
I run the Boyds Featherweight Thumbhole on my Compass 7mm Rem Mag action. Fit great, although magazines are a bit fiddly with the catch. I also use a Boyd's thumbhole on my H&R multi-barrel frame setups. Love that as well. I am looking at a Boyd's Spike Camp for an ultralight build I'm starting in on as well.
Great video. Thank you for sharing. I have a Prarie Hunter stock I picked up on special deal for a Ruger American Predator short action Nutmeg laminated finish. I added box magazine to accept .260 Remington. It's still a working progress. I already bedded the action, but still not happy with the grouping. Take care.
My son picked up his choice Bell and Carlson Ruger American drop in fiberglass stock with aluminum channel in barrel channel. Aluminum trigger guard upgrade too. Blood web on black is his choice. All Weather Ruger American 7mm-08 with a 22 inch long barrel. And 2x7 power Leopold scope.
Whoa! LOVE this video, Gavin! Very interesting intro and outtro! You made that gun look fantastic! I'm shooting a Browning BAR in .270 on a Boyds Field Design Buttstock and forend in Forest Camo, and I hunt whitetail deer with it. My father, brothers and I are meat hunters, and since there's 5 of us, we party hunt, so one year when I had a herd of 3 Does come to within 50 yards of my stand it sure was nice having that semi-auto because I fired off 3 quick shots and dropped all three deer. They didn't even have a chance to run. Love that gun! And love that Boyds stock! That Forest Camo Laminate is so much more beautiful than the boring brown of the OEM stock.
I got a Boyd's stock for a large caliber rifle (.338 win Mag). Had it professionally bedded and installed paid extra for reinforce pins. It cracked down the middle. Boyd refused to honor the warranty, the gunsmith was a dealerl for Boyd's and they got my money back, But they did not feel a new stock would hold up. I would not trust it on any large caliber rifles. Works fine on my 243.
Those Boyd's are nice stocks, have a couple rifles set up with them. Was looking at one of the AT stocks. After researching the AT One stock a bit more, was ready to order until I inquired about the height of the cheek riser and found it was too low for me. Was a surprise that they didn't sell higher rise ones as an option.. maybe as a partner that's an idea you can pass along. As an alternate idea, Bergara has theirs threaded on the bottom so you can fabricate or possibly purchase an extension to extend those pillar's. This newer model seems to have a lot more of an angle on the cheek riser like they did on the evolution, would be interesting to see how that would work.
I have 2 of the at one stocks. If someone isn’t confident with pillar bedding, Boyd’s has that as an option. My first one was a Remington 783 in .308. The second is a savage 6.5 creedmoor. Both pillar and glass bedded with devcon
I've got a 6.5 Creed TC Compass in their spike-camp stock. I bought the rifle on clearance when the Compass II came out, and with the $100 stock upgrade, it only cost me $350 before the scope for an excellent white tail and target gun.
AT One on a Ruger American 308 , completely changed the setup for the better , Lengh of pull a bit short though , had to make a spacer between rubber and aluminium, the gun is very accurate now, a friend just shot a Kudu cow on nearly 400m with it (180g SST)
I run a boyeds at 1 pepper, with a howa 30-06 action barrel, also glass bedded with a gun warrior silencer an 20 moa picatinny rail fitted with a crossfire vortex 6-24×50 scope for hunting, uh ja and the trigger job that's very light done locally
Btw, I'm a recent graduate of sdi, if you want to pay $16,000 for a bunch of classes that are an easy A. And want to learn to make an AR, that's the school for you. They just combined all of their electives into 1 and still no pistol classes. But you can learn hydrographics like it's 1995.
I'm running a Boyd's thumb hole lightweight stock in I think pepper laminate that I pillar bedded myself using pro-bed/score high bedding kit in my 224 Valkyrie remage from Northland Shooters Supply that I bought the tooling and built by myself. Would like a different stock but then I'd have to bed it too and bedding isn't the funnest considering the stress involved.
Hey Gavin, I've had great luck using carbide/HSS round nose router bits in my mill to make/widen barrel channels in stocks. One inch+ ball mills are expensive but the router bits are cheap and work just fine in even the hardest wood. They work well for starting the inlet for the action too!
It must be nice to have a machine shop, and a paint booth with a baking oven for special coating. Lol i imagine it would be pretty easy to do all of this stuff if you had all of this.
Interesting video. I’ve used Boyd’s in the past with nothing bad to say other than they’ve heavy. Thinking about a pro-varmint for my 453 varmint for prs stuff. Again, decent stocks, but I don’t think I’d give up one of my Bravos for one. YMMV
I have a Boyd's thumbhole varmint stock on a Rem 700 full custom 300 RUM running a 34" barrel. This is a +P chamber in a Bartlein 5r 400MOD barrel. I run 245 bergers at 3165fps with .3 MOA Accuracy
I wish I could send you my rem 700 sps varmint in 223 to get bedded refinished. You do amazing work and can’t find a gunsmith worth his salt in my area. I have it in a Boyd’s pro varmint stock.
Just ordered an At-one for ruger american go wild in 7mm prc build Im working to get parts together 😮 by the way you gave the inspiration for this one 😂 thanks
I had to replace the video to make sure that heard you correctly. Do you need to bed the stock or can the stock be used as is? I have a Remington 700 SPS model 24” barrel in 30-06, the factory stock is okay to a point. I don't hunt anymore, it will be a range rifle just to shoot.
I was looking at a Boyd's stock for my Winchester 670A in 243 Win. But decided to leave it like it was, as I already glass bedded the stock and installed pillars. The Boyd's butt plate and cheek piece sure look nice and functional along with rest of the stock though.
I have seen an instance from Allterra Arms (Formally Axial Precision) bed in front of the barrel shank, I believe. Footage was courtesy Rex from RexReviews. Is there benefit to that? Thanks! Isaac
Curious how you kept the bedding getting in between the magazine well area while bedding? Also, have you or others ever bothered bedding the magazine well and bottom metal?
I got one for my savage 17wsm b mag , I love the pepper lament . It's a pistols grip can't remember the name of it, the one thing that I really hate about it is that the grip is way too far away from the trigger, and my friend got the same thing wrong with his and his is on a Remington 700 sa,that one thing has kept me from getting any more from Boyes
Do you have epoxy all up in your action screw threads? It would be better to fit some threaded rod into the action screw’s threads and tighten it with a nut instead of screwing the epoxy into the action when bolting it together to let the epoxy set?
Actually- no- when you screw the action screws in it displaces any epoxy that might be in that area and I coated the action screws with one shot as a release agent, it works perfectly!
I have a ruger m77 300 wm in a boyds at-one stock. it's the gun my grandpa gave me when I was 12 and I've killed every big game animal I have shot w it. I am having issues w the feeding though. I am gonna have to take to somebody to help figure that out.
great video here. Do you know if this stock could be used with a Rem 700 clone with the typical heavier duty side bolt release without modifying the stock inlet?

Thank you for being a part of this Randy! Nice rifle you have!
would love to see more Bergara videos. Primarily on swapping barrels.
It’s coming- and more in that direction! (How about a build from a bare receiver!)
You already KNOW this but,YOU are a PRO ! And that PM 949 Precision Lathe….I’m envious! Beautiful work/craftsmanship there !
Yeah be a waste if he didn't know how to drive A
Love the video! That's awesome that you've teamed up with Boyd's stocks. I have the Blaze stocks form Boyd's on my custom Savage model 99 .308.
I have a few of them. A couple of Mauser 98's, and a couple of Ruger Americans. Love how the look, feel and make the rifles shoot much better. Excellent video!

Love all my Boyd’s stocks gave exceptional accuracy out of all caliber’s especially my Winchester model 70 2506 with all bullet weights
I just bought my Boyd’s Prairie gunstock that I’ve been wanting for 3 years and i finally had the money to but it. Im excited! I have a savage axis 22-250 with a Nikon monarch 3 scope. Budget build that’s within 1in at 100yrds

Great stuff you have there!
Im using a boyds at-one on my switch barrel mosin nagant with barrels in .33 win, .38-56 win, .45-70 and .50-110 win.
S&W i-Bolt 30-06. (I know)
Boyd's AT-One for a Rem 700 in Black Pepper. Dropped right in with no fuss. Arken SH4. That stock really solidified the rifle and improved groups to about an inch. I'm sure the gun shoots better than I do.
The Valkyrie round is one of my favorite varmint round.
wonderful job, i like that your show what types of tools you use during your build, great shooter by the way
What a great looking stock! And you put one of my favorite rifles in it. :) Cool.
At-one stock, ruger 77 varmit in 204. Absolutely love it
They make silicone plugs for everything. Even silicone caps for barrels with plugs for the bore and crown.

running the Boyds AT ONE Stock in Coyote with a Howa 1500 LA 25-06, used for Hunting here in South Africa

Bittersweet as I have a soft spot for that .224 Valkyrie, but it turned out great 👍🏻
Nice work 🙌🏻
Good looking rifle! I run a Boyds Pro Varmint Mauser action .243 for med/ long range prairie dog and coyote.
It must be nice to have a machine shop, and a paint booth with a baking oven for special coating. Lol i imagine it would be pretty easy to do all of this stuff if you had all of this.
It can be done old school without all of the fun toys. Although the fun toys will cut your labor time tremendously.
@@erikbrazzale6983 ohh indeed. The toys are very nice to have
Purchased a Boyd AT-ONE stock for my browning x bolt LR Stalker. 300WM
Looks like a very classic build. nice !
Savage Axis LH 270 in a Boyds At-One in Pepper. Pillar bedded it and it shoots pretty good.. Just need to put better glass on it...
It looks way better with the Barrell matching the action and everything else
Surprised you didn’t use pillar bed guide pins in the action screw holes to prevent bedding material from getting into them.
Thank you for making this video.
You bet!
shouldve grooved the pillars to allow the epoxy to hold the pillars better with the wood expansion and contraction.
Have a Boyd’s At-One on Weatherby Vanguard in 257 Weatherby Magnum and have an Agility stock on order for a Savage B in 17wsm.
I was looking at a Boyd's stock for my Winchester 670A in 243 Win. But decided to leave it like it was, as I already glass bedded the stock and installed pillars. The Boyd's butt plate and cheek piece sure look nice and functional along with rest of the stock though.
Can you not put the epoxy in a vacuum chamber to remove the bubbles?
How about comparing an out of the box chassis to an out of the box Boyds for accuracy?
I have the original At-one in black pepper color, I couldn't find someone to pillar bed it and it's on my Remington 783 in .270 and like it so far
Resembles a BAR with the stock reveal being gray in the center.
What is the point of the aluminum powder in the epoxy? Graphite would work just as well and be lighter and cheaper or am I missing something?
For the next build, try 30-06 or a fast twist 270 Win.
Great review ..looking at getting one for my 700 BDL L/H 7mm-08 AI …
I have seen an instance from Allterra Arms (Formally Axial Precision) bed in front of the barrel shank, I believe. Footage was courtesy Rex from RexReviews. Is there benefit to that?
Thanks! Isaac
I’ve got howa 6mm creedmore heavy barrel in a howa krg stock
It appears that the rifle was more accurate in the KRG Bravo Stock?
Now all you need is an action and barrel from South Dakota and you could have an exclusive Rushmore State rifle
If you don't have a milling machine, what do you recommend using to clean up? I'm assuming just extra file work.
Try some of the belzona products. They make some specitly compounds.
I’ve got a 224v I haven’t shot yet lol. But I think I’m leaning towards the 8.6blk next.
Curious how you kept the bedding getting in between the magazine well area while bedding? Also, have you or others ever bothered bedding the magazine well and bottom metal?
Very nice work bro 👍, enjoyed the video.
I got one for my savage 17wsm b mag , I love the pepper lament . Can you please do a review on the Christensen Ranger..?

I have a ruger m77 300 wm in a boyds at-one stock. it's the gun my grandpa gave me when I was 12 and I've killed every big game animal I have shot w it. I am having issues w the feeding though. I am gonna have to take to somebody to help figure that out.
So will boyds do all this stuff for my rifle?
Are you going to sell the KRG chassis?
What are Boyd's stock like

.... No _before_ range time for comparison?!
