I was there Friday and Saturday night. The whole team worked tremendously hard to field a winning car. You must have taken a big swing at it for Saturday night because Joseph was flying. Really proud to have met Joseph Saturday and Jonathan in the stands while he was filming. Thrilled to have met the rest of the family and Jonathan’s beautiful children at the Merch trailer. I hope the blue mats I brought will help at the shop and track. God Bless!

They need to take that chassis to Longhorn and have it stripped down and look for a broken chassis bar that's allowing the car to flex and come unloaded, it's going to be in an area thats not seen on a nut and bolt check but is in a critical area or those boys just can't set a chassis up for Joseph, because we all know the HTF boys can drive 🏁
Real race teams probably defer to the chassis builder, the expert. When handling issues aren't resolved with setup. If you dont get the chassis checked and that's the problem. You could be chasing your tail all season.
@@CORNDODGER Because when you are talking about something bring bent by 1/4" throwing the whole racecar off it needs to go back to the chassis builder who has the jig to place the car on to see. This isn't your local hobby stock, fractions of an inch can destroy a setup. I've seen 1/8" too much lead on one side make a car undrivable.
@@CORNDODGER That's fine if they are racing a hobby stock but this is a pure breed super late model and it's obvious to experienced racers that something is not right with the chassis which takes a jig to determine. Even NASCAR teams send the chassis to the builder when needed if it's not in house.
On paper driving the Henderson car looked like a good deal. But Joseph needs to rethink his decision. It might be taking his career in the wrong direction. You know Longhorn is a top car and Cornett is a good motor. But if the shock package isn't working and the crew can't make it work then Joseph not going to be able to drive the car.
When a chance for a ride for an up and comer like Joseph, you take it. Easy for you to sit back after the fact and criticize. Name someone who's ever been successful who didn't try.
@@Rambone72 Last summer Joseph got a ride in a pavement late model, remember? The car was set up well and he learned fast and did well in the race. This car has been a dumpster fire every time he's driven it and he hasn't had a chance to compete. How is that good any good for an up and coming driver??

@@Rambone72 Point being the pavement car was sorted for the track and Joseph was able to learn it and get comfortable and show what he could do and they asked him back to race it. This car hasn't been good both times he's run it, how is that helpful to his career? Are they hoping he'll sort it out for them? A free ride isn't worth much if the car, not the driver, runs at the back at a local bullring or with the best drivers. Waste of time.
So NO ONE wants to say it. So I will. This is NOT a knock on Joiner nor Henderson. But racing facts. The car set up is NOT good. NOT close. This happens in racing. (Now you know how my Amatuer butt feels). We know Joseph (Dyno-mite) can win. Henderson crew worked their butt off trying to get it to the drivers liking. That is racing. Joseph and Jesse Johnaton can drive. IT is always a combo of car setup WITH driver ability.
Man they have way to much J-Bar angle in that thing !! every time he plants the rear end to turn watch the left front it try's to jump up ! pushing like a Bulldozer lol
Joseph could have done better in a street stock than that thing.. worst handling car if seen since my first race back in the day.. my advice is to tell those folks “thanks but no thanks” .. you guys have got a good thing going with Capital and a first rate pit crew in John,Jordan and Jesse. I couldn't believe how badly the car handled. Never could get the back of the car to whip around. I think if you had your guys car would have been a completly different story. Then Joesph was doing good for the b main and I watch the guy turn it around right on the low side where he was. I hope you guys come back next year and maybe should bring your car.
Giving you a heads up for the Eldora million and DLM Dream, Eldora was extremely rough for the Johnny Appleseed Classic, lots of good cars got trashed including Davenport and Peirce.
Man that performance made it look like joseph doesn't belong and we all know that's not the case. They really need some test and tune laps on that car. Good thing Joseph has alot of experience driving dump trucks.
A car will only let you drive it as best you can. Car was a pig. You can’t drive over car issues. Quick fix go 100 harder in the r/r and less drupe in l/r. So many ways to fix it. Cheers boys.
I don't know who attempted to set the car up initially but they FAILED in a HUGE WAY!!! That was heartbreaking and painful to watch!!!😞 That car should have been so much better. My heart hurts for ALL OF Y'ALL AT HTF because I know how excited y'all were to be able to go to Lucas Oil Raceway . Broken FR rebound shim stack in the shock? Looked like it was packing down through the turn and by the exit was bottomed and hooking. But, what do I know? Looked ok once it planed and got ride height back. Don't throw more spring & compression at it!

I suspect they had something screwed up in LR birdcage. Looked like a 1992 4-bar car (when we had no idea how to make them work/nobody did) with short left mounted bar that last run. Was a doing the Texas 2 step getting in the corner.

Loving the videos! Would you be able to have the drivers explain whats not happening right in the car and how you guys interpret that into knowing what changes should be made? I just dont understand what makes the car hop around on 3 wheels vs slide perfectly in control and so fast. Hope the rest of the event went well for you guys :)

It's so odd how the car looked like it entered good but snapped so tight in the middle and would correct and drive off the corner! Let us know what they found wrong with the setup!
I had the same problem racing last night felt good in qualifying and hot laps but just wasn’t enough wasn’t able to make the main just a shitty night makes you wanna quit but ya gotta hang in there makes the good night feel a whole lot better

They have days like that almost every race though lol. They always say the car wasn't handling well. At some point, it's on Joseph. Whether it's on him for making changes or on him for not making the right changes. It's always everyone and everything else's fault but HTF's. They never make the wrong choice and they never drive poorly to hear them tell it. I've never heard them say "I just wasn't driving good" or "I got outraced today, I wasn't as good as them." It's always the track, the setup, the tires. They've ran like crap ever since they got caught with that illegal shock.
Wow! Only time I drove a worse handling car than that was one night when I inadvertantly put a taller tire on the LR than the RR. It behaved a lot like the car in the video. I know how Joseph must have felt. Better luck tomorrow!

They have days like that almost every race though lol. They always say the car wasn't handling well.
At some point, it's on Joseph. Whether it's on him for making changes or on him for not making the right changes. It's always everyone and everything else's fault but HTF's. They never make the wrong choice and they never drive poorly to hear them tell it. I've never heard them say "I just wasn't driving good" or "I got outraced today, I wasn't as good as them." It's always the track, the setup, the tires. They've ran like crap ever since they got caught with that illegal shock.

Wow! Only time I drove a worse handling car than that was one night when I inadvertantly put a taller tire on the LR than the RR. It behaved a lot like the car in the video. I know how Joseph must have felt. Better luck tomorrow!
