I'm a kikuyu born and raised in Migori i know more of luo than kikuyu i left migori when i was 17 and am 29 you can imagine more than half of my life I've lived in Migori somebody tell me am not a luo!!!🤣🤣🤣🤣
The year is 2002 and Dolla kabary releases this hit and teenage me couldn't be contained. Dani had to make sure we eat or else we vanish to the nearest disco matanga playing this song! Two decades it still gives goosebumps!
I heard it first in 2006. I am a city boy who was weaned on western music but had this boss who played this song and a few others over and over in the office where I was an intern. I became an instant convert and have never listened to any other music except dholuo ever since. This song rewired my head, and I am so happy. Plus I developed this strange affinity for my ancestral land, that even when I relocated to the US, I was homesick I had to celebrate back and visit my mother in Siaya.
You heard it very late... this was a 2002 Album. Being a city boy, you missed a lot. We literally danced this tune, and others in the Album such as Adundo Mum, and Bebi Atoti in disco matangas in 2002.
😂😂😂😂 guys this banger 😊 heheeee… Let this kids jam to their so called ODI MUSIC 🎶. Back in 2002 October, this song was more than the Queen’s death plus her funeral not mentioning her perpetual legacy. This was the BILLBOARD BENGA leader Of tue decade. I rest my case. Juu hamuwezi elewa. Any little ADOLESCENCE + THIS SONG= MARRIAGE 😂😂😂 @dolakabary Thank you 🙏 for the upload. And we will still jam to it in 2095 😅
It's reminds me of mamba club kisumu those days ...when my mum was energetic...she was a single mum but we never to sleep empty stomach...its now four months since you left us alone in this wicked world mum.. it's do heartbreak me every single second 💔💔💔💔💔
Reminds me of the village life, disco matanga was the best. Ahuja always smoked from far and near just to come and enjoy these songs. My friends Bigie, Otie Solo AKA ABISO RIP, Ochido ideed life was hillarius and i met my ex Nyakabuoch. I thought we had reached.
Am back to my village for 2022 Holidays where I used to shake my head like ObongoObongo in 2001 while listening to this beautiful tune here. This was real hit when I was only 13 yrs.
This reminds me of the year 2002 when I was to seat for my KCPE exams and there was a long teachers strike! How I wish I could turn the hands of time just to rewind those good moments of my youth.
I remember when this music came out, there was this disco matanga which played for consecutively 7days this was the song which played in repeat mode. I used to go to that disco matanga and from there straight to school. I was many times sleeping while walking to school leave alone in the class. I was glad at this disco matanga when I managed to ask a lady out. She agreed but I was so nervous so I vanished. Old ‘‘em day.
Being a city born and bread my parents used to play luo songs every weekend and I had no choice back them but to listen to them including this one. Yani we dreaded those weekends but now looking back am glad they did play those songs! To my late dad you did well by us. Kept us in touch with our luo roots!
This song brings the nostalgia. The year 2002, when i joined form at Orando Mixed Sec School, meeting new friends in a new environment from my home area, Ahero, Kano. Paul Makodera and Omondo Likembe were the new friends within Holo market. We could walk from Chuny Ngich Bar to Hard disco just to listen to Dola kabari song, Sela over the weekends. Life without responsibility was such nice thing.
This song will go beyond the Year 2400.... We will be dancing to these tunes Kule Juuu kuleee... Juuuu.... Ngamariek Ofulane.... #Sela Jowaaaa... What a great Composition
Let us all wish Dola Kabari along life, he was our star together with akina Atommy Sifa etc. I remember back in 2002 nikiwa class 8 I would sing this song all the way to the river and back. I never missed any disco matanaga just for this song and Nya Boss Mora by Ajogi Dume.
