    I finally picked up a replacement motor a couple of weeks ago and installed it with ease after watching your video.
    Thanks again!

    Great vid!!! I smoked my motor Tues while racing in the back yard. I think I have a spare. Love the little Tetons, we have a blast bashing in the back yard.

    This made the repair I needed so much easier. Cleaned the drivetrain while I was in there. Runs great now.

    Thanks for the video. Thought son's motor was shot. turns out the motor mount screws had come loose causing the motor to move. this video helped me fix the issue.

    Perfect though i visited this video to resolve the loud pinion noise which is why i do all my repairs myself now, flip 180 install correctly thanks!, this truck has alot of qwerks, like the suspension tiny brace thingy which always pops out and gets lost.. i glue them now.

    Unfortunately, I'll be doing this swap out as soon as I get another motor.
    May install a brushless motor.
    Thanks for the tutorial!

      It happens. Hope this helps and for what it's worth, the stock Teton is a pretty nice, reliable setup. If you drop in a hotter motor, be ready to upgrade more stuff to make it reliable.

    Very Informative! Thanks so much. I will do my own motor change now. Could you recommend few best options for motor upgrade? Brushed? Brushless?

    I have the same problem and I need to replace the motor while it is still under warranty because they told my son that we need back to send the whole car by post from Malta to the shop in Germany from where we purchased it that it will cost more than the price of the motor while they know that it seems like a common problem or defect because he only used the car for a few hours. They should use a more reliable motor and treat better the customers.

    What size is that pinion? N u think the teton pinion will fit/or work on a sandy land 1/18 scale motor? The pinion they have on the sandy land strips really quick. Need help. Thanks

    Ive gone through 2 stock LaTrax 370 motors. The first one went out (just like you showed in your video) replaced it with another LaTrax...weeks later it stopped working too. Im inclined to say their motor are a bit inferior. Im not bashing LaTrax or Traxxas, on the contrary Im a huge fan. Im just kinda done with their motors. Im just a weekend occasional adult RCer. No heavy use or abuse. So, I need to replace the motor again, but Im looking for an upgrade that's not brushless. Do you have any recommendations?

    Mine only goes in reverse does that mean the motor is bad ?

    ive been out of rc for a while, but man, these look like a pain in the ass to have to clean the motor. is that why they fail? they are harder to spray and clean?

      Das Boot They're inexpensive little brushed motors and they're pretty easy to replace. Of course, routine maintenence prolongs the life of anything, but in some cases you just have to replace a part. Luckily it's cheap and pretty easy, especially when you've seen it done.

    • @fjones1914
      @fjones1914 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Das Boot: At $10 a motor, it may be easier to plug & chug rather than repair a burned out motor unless that's just what you want to do.

    Having issues with mine moves forward and backwards like normal has no steering replaced steering servo with upgraded metal gear tried recalibration the steering then works with throttle confused at this point lol any help or tips very much appreciated

    • @yatesc9246
      @yatesc9246 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Reset you're transmitter. Theres Traxxas videos on YT on how to do it. Same happened to me it worked after reset. You might also have to bind the transmitter again. Videos about that also.

  • @hron3497
    @hron3497 7 ปีที่แล้ว

    Hey Luke. The reason why I’m commenting again on this video is cuz there’s a problem with my traxxas summit. Just like the Teton you fixed, the Summit has steering but no throttle but instead of the esc blinking red, my summits esc blinks green. I’ll probably be coming this week and if not,
    I’ll probraly be coming on sat

    • @evettsmodelshop662
      @evettsmodelshop662  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      That sounds like throttle calibration. When you come in, we'll take care of it one way or another.

    I lost one of those metal things that keeps the body in place and I don’t know what to do

  • @nocoolname32
    @nocoolname32 5 ปีที่แล้ว

    replaced the motor, in place, indexed properly and it's now insanely loud, in higher end trucks you can adjust the gear mesh but now on these lil buggers, it's preset. any ideas? same gears, same motor mount, only swapped out the motor. any ideas?

    • @evettsmodelshop662
      @evettsmodelshop662  5 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      That happens on these. Open it up again and flip the motor 180 degrees. Seems ridiculous, but it will fix that. Do it soon, too- Or your spur will be roached.

    Of course I found this after i fixed the kids, but we have 4 and just piggybacked it to test. And determine the motor was bad

    • @railroader8728

      Is there a way to adjust the mesh? It seems preset. My motor barely touched the spur gear.

    • @Madlittlepixel
      @Madlittlepixel 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Did you change the throttle setting. You should have 3. 1. Full speed, reverse and braking. 2. Full speed, no reverse, braking. 3. Half speed, half reverse, braking.

      Flip the motor over on the motor mount and reinstall it.
