On the practice day of the Helly Hansen Sailing World Regatta Series in Annapolis we jumped into the NorthU Regatta Experience fleet to listen in on how coach Rod Favela guides his students around the course.

Why he wanted them to do something would be beneficial for sure, and conditions to be met for something also. When he told the helm to keep turning till the kite filled on the gybe then no more it was really useful compared to up, up, up, up Dave!

What does the squish accomplish? I sail a heavier boat (32', 8400 lb), so we don't do that.
