Visual kei is one hell of a drug
I think the Japanese metal scene has the most interesting version of the genre, they really nail the whole weird and creepy aspect of death metal without losing heaviness and brutality and ultimately make it seem less goofy to those who are new to the genre.
Deathcore done right.
I start from DIR EN GREY first. . .
I don't at all mean to rag on the Japanese scene, or this band in particular, but this is as goofy as metal gets.

This vocalist has some crazy breath control as well as range. The slow fry with his whistle screech at 00:27 is wild. That relatively slow popping along with the high-pitched scream.
The only sad part, is that this song/ video has an end. But still i can't wait for more gems from them.
