***** Not really and this house actually looks nice, just because its not a fucking mansion doesn't make it ugly and gaudy, besides you probably live in a cabin or something xD
This place was definitely built no later than the 70's with that decor. It honestly looks awesome, but I bet it needs AT MINIMUM several hundred thousand dollars in updates. And I'm not just talking a full remodel of the decor. I can't imagine that air and water filtration systems that were available to an Average Joe back then were very good. If you are going to ride out a nuclear holocaust in that place it's probably going to need all new survival systems installed at the very least.
***** I don't think you understood what I said. I hypothetically stated that since there would be no internet, the best way to communicate would be short wave radio, like it was used back in the old days.
Hows the wifi signal? Jesus christ, what is wrong with people? The thought that went into these was survival, not checking your Facebook status. I understand you might have been attempting to be humorous, but that is how most people actually think in this era. Get your head out of your Icunt for humanities sake.
This is absolutely one of my favorite bomb shelters of all time the interiors, the exteriors, I like everything about that bunker. Even the kitchen is fancy and the Interiors don't need to be updated and I wouldn't mind living in a place with retro interiors. But to be honest though, as a 14-year-old, I wouldn't mind spending a year down there.
At the time it was the state of the art in home design. But now it's so old but still standing. Those kitchen cabinets can use a major revamping and that interior needs updating. The whole idea is still cool though.
No. The whole movie was filmed in various California locations and on a sound studio. I would bet that this house was a partial inspiration for it though.
These tree's couldn't survive underground obviously...because they need water.........you mean sunlight bro. Believe it or not, water can actually go underground.
Wow... Are you guys serious ? This place is heaven, with a remote solar light system, internet, water and food, I wouldn't go out for a year even if there was no threat outside.
TheModernMonkey You can just go upstairs and be in an uber to a casino within minutes, unless nuclear disaster has occured in which case you're screwed.
I agree with you style wise , the white with pink trim kitchen was awful . However I think the general idea is really cool and personally I'd just have the living spaces remodeled .
cronos222 Sure,I think its a useful structure with a very interesting potential however it needs a complete "overhaul" both architecturally and in interior design.
id buy it if it was in or around seattle. Nut the killer for me is the vegas economy, it wouldnt keep me afloat for very long. maybe I can sell 2 of my houses and have one built on my 10 acre lot. i love the retro look. they should rent it like a hotel i would book a week in it.
+studinthemaking Actually I read on Daily Mail on line. That the guy who built it. Owned a company that a built a lot of stuff. But also built underground survivor bunkers for people. So he built one for himself. When he built that house back in the 1970's I believe it was. The house was located way out of town and that why he was able to build such a big bunker, so far underground. You knew how big of a hole that you got to dig for that! How thick are the concrete walls and ceiling?www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2414497/Most-luxurious-bunker--The-1970s-Cold-War-Era-Home-built-26-feet-underground.html
Well as only a handful of companies have the skills to build these. The $1.7 million for 16,000 sq is about right. Try getting a new one built. The waiting list is 15 years. As government officials are having personal bunkers build at a record pass. Along with the super wealthy. I wonder why that is. They expecting something!
Heru- deshet I actually talked to a guy that does these on this scale. He simply stated about 5-10 companies can built this type of underground shelter or bunker. You can look up how many companies that have the skills and expertise to build these. You get a handful. Then ask them how long the waiting list is to completion. Or just do simple search on the demand for these by political office holders.
Heru- deshet I understand. I don't have a few million to hide from the bogie man either. As it seems the wealthy think they can escape death with 5 foot of concrete.
Lotto time, I'd buy this in a flash, just like the one you would see while I was in my new home underground surviving! I could deal with having back up generators and plenty of fuel to run them along with my life! Do make fun of it, criticize it and I will be living it!
Well, its 18 million now. Other tours suggested that there was international inquiries. That is a huge jump. I'm suspecting they are trying to keep it out of international hands. I mean, the possibilities of this place rather for a retreat or something nefarious. Maybe someone would pull a Bruce Wayne. Personally, I'm a bit anti social and this would be a perfect getaway from the many attributes of society. I wouldn't even put anything down there that would link me to the outside world-Social media, news networks, a radio and the internet. Just a land line to let my closest family know I'm okay. With that being said, how long you guys think you can stay down there without leaving and without connecting to the outside world. How long would it take for you to crack up? perfect place for a reality show.
That awkward moment when an underground bunker is 100 times nicer than you're above-ground home.
» Cyphrix « You must live in a fuckin' tent!
243wayne1 No I actually live in a really nice house, but this underground bunker is way better than most houses in the country, even yours possibly.
***** Not really and this house actually looks nice, just because its not a fucking mansion doesn't make it ugly and gaudy, besides you probably live in a cabin or something xD
***** Probably not lmao I have a REALLY nice house and this bunker and still better than my house and probably yours.
Phoonex But not myyyyyyyyyy house fuckers... Lol.
Someone's been playing to much fallout new Vegas lol
+Tammi Schweizer lol yea since you won't be living underground radation will still linger regardless if you're underground or not
We need Power Armor!
dooode fuck off
Stuip man lol
@@ihndcihbdehxubdeihcbdeih9836 nope it's too big for the house *cough* bunker *cough*
Looks like a grandmas nuclear shelter

tealosophy agreed
The real question is, how is the wifi signal?
+Daniel Kim In case of a national disaster, there will be no such thing as wi-fi. We'll have to fall back on time tested short wave radio,
*****
I don't think you understood what I said. I hypothetically stated that since there would be no internet, the best way to communicate would be short wave radio, like it was used back in the old days.
+Klaus Intres LOL.....many people alive today survived the first 25 years of their life before there was an internet available to the common man
Hows the wifi signal? Jesus christ, what is wrong with people? The thought that went into these was survival, not checking your Facebook status. I understand you might have been attempting to be humorous, but that is how most people actually think in this era. Get your head out of your Icunt for humanities sake.
+Daniel Kim Im pretty sure the internet wouldn't exsist lulz and your 3g and 4g wont work cause the cellphone towers will be gone from the blast.
1.7 MILLION is actually really cheap for this house!
So can you buy me one since you think the price is $17 and not $1.7m
Mello101 1.7 euros is cheap, for that price we can’t even buy a big villa in The Netherlands for 2 mil.....
In America it’s expensive
$1.7 M is super cheap. I'm from Silicon valley and with that prices it gets you a small 2bd 1br house
Guzman XP ye..
Omg this is awesome. Never rain or noisy neighbours! Reminds me of the movie Blast From The Past
It was used as a set piece in that movie, actually.
Nice, don't have to worry about the weather
JimmyG Or the noisy neighbors.
Secret party house! and nobody can sneak in.
This is absolutely one of my favorite bomb shelters of all time the interiors, the exteriors, I like everything about that bunker. +nick butter Eh, I'd keep it as is. I find the mid century design beautiful and nostalgic.
nick butter I feel like with it being under ground and surrounded and away from the elements this house wouldn’t degrade for well forever correct?
did that Brendan Fraser movie Blast from the Past use this mansion for a set?
Yeah pretty sure they used this for the movie cause I recognised it straight away 😉👍🏽
Big Lovan I thought the same thing
It was also in a CSI episode.
No. The whole movie was filmed in various California locations and on a sound studio. I would bet that this house was a partial inspiration for it though.
Yes
Cool, I wouldn't mind living there, but I would need to do something about that kitchen.
Now that looks cool
Love that pink kitchen cabinet borders!
This place is ready for New Vegas.
B-B-Q, bb gun
That is some luxurious fallout shelter shit
I love this! I've always wanted to see this exact thing done
Nice can live underground with all the comfort and style of the brady bunch.
Reminds me of the movie "Blast from the past"
Me to
Me three
I WANT THIS!
These tree's couldn't survive underground obviously...because they need water.........you mean sunlight bro. Believe it or not, water can actually go underground.
I would build my bunker like this, not this style but this big to live in.
If I won the lottery I would probably buy this house just for the sheer novelty of living there.
You could throw some crazy parties down there
Just watching this is claustrophobic!
its like a time capsule for the 70s style
you would go insane in 2 weeks lol
Wow... Are you guys serious ? This place is heaven, with a remote solar light system, internet, water and food, I wouldn't go out for a year even if there was no threat outside.
TwinsunLunacy There wont be no internet if attacked big time n cell phones nothign..
Uilliam Coorinna
Internet itself was designed to survive war, including nuclear war.
TheTruthQuest123 me and my girlfriend would go down there and never come out lol
TheModernMonkey You can just go upstairs and be in an uber to a casino within minutes, unless nuclear disaster has occured in which case you're screwed.
It's a Blast From The Past man! (get the film reference?)
Looks like the one in the movie? Was it used in for it ?
that would be cool
I also believed this was on a CSI episode but i have dvd box set and on the special features it shows it was filmed on a specially made film set.
Going here for the purge
What a house, amazing
I love it 😍😍😍
Here in my garage just bought a bunker
I love this place.
House party of the year right there.
Interesting to see the underground house for the 1st time.
I love it. I want one
That is awesome.
omg,i wish i can have this kind of house,no more scared of people breaking into my house anymore.are u designing your self?
Beautiful. Lol. iActually love this. 😀
I absolutely LOVE it. Can I move in there ? PLEASE ?
Wow if I ever became a millionaire I would buy that house
Surviving the apocalypse in style.
That's soooooo cool!
I wanna live there
The idea of an underground bunker is good, but this is an example of sleazy architecture typical for people with lots of money but childish style.
It's childish for someone to spend his money the way he wants? Lol talk about irony.
***** You need to learn how to read, the comment is about STYLE not about how the money is spent!
IndifferentDude Ok , Agreed .
This is amazing!
id buy it if it was in or around seattle. Nut the killer for me is the vegas economy, it wouldnt keep me afloat for very long. maybe I can sell 2 of my houses and have one built on my 10 acre lot. i love the retro look. they should rent it like a hotel i would book a week in it.
It would make a hell of an underground party!
depending on the maintenance/upkeep....1.7 mil. ain't bad.
What isn't bank owned today. Praise and Glory to YAH for LOVE,MERCY and TRUTH. Amen Amen Amen
i want a house just like this!
I would totally buy this if I had the money 😅
I want to live there, even if it isn't the apocalypse yet!
is this where they filmed that csi episode, or was that another bunker?
flapte the csi episode was a film set. Got csi dvd box set. It on the special features.
Vegas pimp during the day, avid nuke bunker digger by night... Someone please make this a movie
was it ever sold if not, what's the asking price now?
Dude that is so fucking Fall Out! What?! That is sick
With a house like that, I'd be hoping for fallout
Haha ikr! Great movie btw!
If that was featured in fallout newvegas it would have been perfect!
and if the world blows up, how will you get electricity for that place? solar? diesel?
That's awsome
Imagine adding a full artificial landscape. Like mountains, and forests to explore.
I never thought I would hit the thumbs up on a CNN video. I feel dirty.
I would do away with the pink kitchen cupboards/ drawers. Hideous.
10 or 15 years! No way. How much fuel does it hold to make power?
+studinthemaking Actually I read on Daily Mail on line. That the guy who built it. Owned a company that a built a lot of stuff. But also built underground survivor bunkers for people. omg it's so amazing
was this house used in that blast from the past movie
will it actually protect you from nuclear fallout? eventually you'll run out of clean water. what about oxygen? what if you get sick?
Is it still for sale 5 years after this video?
not to mention, since it is out in vegas- i'd think it would have some solar panels up above to work things down there.
Well as only a handful of companies have the skills to build these. The $1.7 million for 16,000 sq is about right.

+Claude “Reviews4U” Rains I'd like to see the data on that. Do you have any links?
Heru- deshet I actually talked to a guy that does these on this scale. He simply stated about 5-10 companies can built this type of underground shelter or bunker.

I was hoping for a quick reference. Not worth researching it. It's not like I have the dough to do it, lol.
Heru- deshet I understand. I don't have a few million to hide from the bogie man either.
As it seems the wealthy think they can escape death with 5 foot of concrete.
Claude Rains
Best thing to do is stand outside and let the blast get it over with in a flash,
So can I buy one of the homes?
Now that's cool
anyone know when it was built or did he say it and i just missed that?
If you have paranoid personality disorder, this bunker is perfect for you.
same house from "Blast from the past"?
+Permanent Mark Lehmann Nah,that shelter was far nicer.
That cheap to buy the only problem is I don't live in America and I need a 15 car garage too for my toys .
Danmmmm I want to live there.......
Hey, vault tech 😲 ! Where's the overseer's room 😕 ?
I wonder if they could actually build that today with all of our technology?
This makes sense. but still, some fresh paint and new furniture could help
Lotto time, I'd buy this in a flash, just like the one you would see while I was in my new home underground surviving! I could deal with having back up generators and plenty of fuel to run them along with my life! Do make fun of it, criticize it and I will be living it!
does anyone know the movie about a house like this????
Badass... I wonder if government bunkers are even remotely as tranquil as this bunker
Needs an update but pretty cool house!
awesome
as a fallout shelter, it has a backup generator.
The zombies would smell the BBQ and coming running lol
This guy livin life on 4g :)
I want iiiiit and I need it😄😄😄
Now they know where they live.
Genius
1.7M OR 100k on a realistic shelter and 1.6M on supplies and weaponry to ensure that you have the best chance for survival. Ya know....
This would have been a very helpful find while playing fallout.

Have fun taking your groceries inside.
i would buy it :D
this house reminds me of that movie with Brendon frazier
The Mummy....
is there any oxygen there
