Excellent job considering it is pure cardboard. However, your T-Rex teeth are definitely too long. On the skull they are longer, but a fleshed out T-Rex, like yours, would be shorter because the flesh/lips would partially hide them. And, yes, I am no arm-chair builder. I have a life-size T-Rex skull in my own backyard that started as a metal armature and cardboard bones and finally became a fiber-glassed skull to keep the cardboard from disintegrating. I studied and paid attention to the actual bone structures and modeled my T-Rex teeth after a resin copy of the real thing. Fully half the length of the T-Rex tooth root is inside the skull bone. But your sculpture is still beautiful.
Thanks so much for your Kind comments John. I have to grudgingly admit that in terms of teeth and bone structure you are spot on. Unfortunately I was mainly using pictures that I found online as my main guide and as you will probably know most of the images online vary in terms of shape and structure. In the end I decided to go for what looked most cinematic and ferocious. Also with regards to the way I work, I tend to figure it out as I go along and that was very much how I did this build. The model I built previously to this was a C-3PO head th-cam.com/video/mXzlFlbwf8Y/w-d-xo.html which was also not perfect in terms of proportions but only experience and time will help me improve as I build more models. Glad you liked it and it was interesting for me to go back and do more research on the T-rex with regards to the length of the teeth. Is there anywhere online that I could see pictures of your T-rex? Please let me know, it would be fascinating for me to see.
Sorry no templates, I had to figure this one out as I went along. I have tried to capture as much of the process as I went along to help anyone who wants to make it.
