Elgar Howarth talks about his role as a composer of brass band music. Also, a short appreciation of Michael Tippett's Festal Brass with Blues. Recorded at the 2005 RNCM Festival of Brass, which celebrated Howarth's 70th birthday and featured a number of his pieces. Presented by Petroc Trelawny and broadcast on BBC Radio 3 some time in early 2005.
