Does it matter how you play the Em cord? I usually use my two fingers on the 2 fret of the 2nd and 3rd string.

Practice practice practice. And find a placement of your fingers that your comfortable with
Play it slow. Anyone can learn anything if they play it slow enough.

right at the begining he wasn't playing chords, he was just strumming one string at a time 😊
