How did they do this? Painter education in the renaissance started at an very early age and the school system was very different. Instead of forcing pupils to learn based on a schedule, it was more like the Summerhill school in Britain. Children were supported in their likings to excel. Michelangelo started painting and his education before he turned teenager. The level of excellence these classic artists reached is lost today. We have none anymore that can meet them. First they turned perfect craftsmen even putting mistakes into pictures on purpose to have them found by their students. Painting comes with technics and tools and starts with drawing. Van Gogh is famous for a very unique way using the brush and Picasso for his style both being the last artists in the tradition of classic painters that excelled. The painting in the ceilings are most difficult. It is no canvas, but the paint was put on a prepared surface that soaked the paint in. On a canvas a mistake can be scratched off, but on such a ceiling paint job parts of the surface would have needed to be taken down to correct a mistake. Apparently, Michelangelo was also hell of a good fist fighter and liked silence starting a brawl when he failed to hear a needle hitting ground......and Leonardo da Vinci was a master of also the military arts. #trueknights Vs #warriors #garden Vs #battlefields
