Well I remember, 60 years ago, climbing up on the counter and ate a bunch of kids vitamins. I remember what they looked like, half green and half yellow, square with divots on either side. I did not get sick. So glad the boys are ok.

My 30 year-old youngest son Must have been 3 at the time I couldn't keep them out of the bathroom cabinets so I put the Tylenol on the top shelf above the stove in the kitchen In the cabinet He found it within seconds 1 day He swallowed the bottle And brought the empty bottle to me poison control sent us to the ER where they gave him a charcoal stomach pump When we got home I put up the baby gate He climbed it I put it higher Hi wriggled underneath it I put it in between it he just push it through So I bought a plastic or rubber snake He was terrified of it I took the gate down and leave the rubber snake across the floor the entrance to the kitchen in the bathroom area and he wouldn't go near it Kept them out of harms way I let took was a rubber snake from the dollar store I'm glad your Boys are fine It's a scary situation

Once my I left my 5 year old daughter in the bathroom for just a second while I grabbed clothes for her. I had left her asthma inhaler on the counter because it was a routine we did every night after bath she’d get her puff of inhaler - when I came back it was in her hand and she had almost 30 puffs missing from her inhaler. So I knew she puffed it but didn’t know how much of it she actually inhaled. She told me she was helping me. Ugh I was so scared. I called poison control who told me to call 911 and get her to the ER because it could cause a heart attack or lung problems. We spent 8 hours at the ER while they monitored her. She ended up fine so we think she sprayed the puffs but didn’t inhale much at all.
I learned a lot that day - A couple seconds can change your whole world! I’m thankful every day it didn’t end up differently! She’s now 17 and I couldn’t imagine my life without her!!!!

😰 Almost lost my daughter last year from Tylenol. It's lethal. She spent a week in the hospital fighting for her life. She had course after course of antidote, but her numbers kept climbing. Tylenol is more dangerous than most prescription meds: permanent paralysis, severe kidney damage, liver failure, death. Anyone with children shouldn't have Tylenol in the house, EVEN with a child safety cap. It's just not worth the risk.
My daughter lived, an absolute miracle. I'm SO grateful your boys are alright too. I was bawling when I watched this. I can't even put into word the empathy I feel for you. Thank God they're alright. So many others aren't.😓

We nicknamed him Houdini, because he could climb any cabinet and open virtually all of the child proof locks we installed. He was also the master of using distraction. Glad the boys are ok. My now 35 yr old daughter when she was like 9 at a baseball game she was playing in. On a dare from the other players broke open the instant ice packs and drank some of the blue liquid that says to not ingest! They all fessed up right after she drank it. No one at that time carried cellphones. So I had to leave the field to call poison control at the fire station. We are extremely rural. They said have her drink milk right away. Our town did not have a store. But when I got to the game again someone’s grandmother had just grocery shopped and had milk. She was fine and now she is an emergency room charge nurse in a busy Hospital so we can laugh about it.

My youngest boy was about 2 at the time and got into my bag that had a small (10 pill) bottle of Tylenol. I knew one was missing because I had took it earlier for a headache and he gets ahold of it while I’m cleaning. I caught him in the act and shoved my fingers down his throat and got four pills out and I’m panicking. I just immediately put him in my car and drove as fast as I could to the hospital and after about four hours the doctors were like “he’s fine. He could of took the whole bottle and nothing happen” I’m like what in the world that makes no sense. So they discharge us and I wouldn’t let him go to sleep or take a nap until I felt comfortable enough that he was going to be okay. I’m watching his every move at that point. And he was fine.
Lesson learned: never leave headache medicine or any medicine in my bag in the living room. This happened 4 years ago and thankful it’s never happened again

So something I suggest is keeping children's medicine in high cabinets as child's medication is not suppose to contain enough for an overdose in children of age (certain medications are not allowed in younger children 5 or under.) Adult medication should be locked away in a lock box in your room or kitchen up and away. This way if accidents do occur it should have the best outcome possible

Omgness glad they are okay. My oldest son did that once. The bottle was under the crib in a small container when he was two he drank quite a bit. He seemed sleepy after so I called an ambulance. But he turned to be just fine but extremely scary as a parent! The hospital even threatened to call child services. But unfortunately accidents do happen.

I remember my wee ones always into things they knew they shouldn't. We had 15 children and I always felt out numbered. Lol However we used to call all medicine Mr. Yucky. And I would tell my kids that if they were sick or had a headache that Mr. Yucky would help them but if they just wanted it cuz it taste good then Mr. Yucky would bite the inside of their tummy. So inadvertently that worked for us. Kids are too cute and too funny and just know you can't be everywhere at the same time. Your a good mom and great parents this kind of thing unfortunately does happen and even in the best best of households and under strict watchful eyes. I'm so very glad nothing serious happened and that they are both alright

I start crying I have to hold my self from the sink my legs where shaking. I make her vomit and took her to emergency. Thanks god that nothing happen to her.

I can't imagine how you must of felt as a parent if your child OD'd on the Tylenol. I'm glad your boys are ok. Probably a good lesson for them to learn and next time they need pain meds, ask a parent first and administer it to them yourselves. My sister is a nanny to 3 kids (ages 6,3 and 1) and the mom is a NICU nurse and she and her husband lock the pain and cold medicine up in a kitchen cabinet so the kids don't get to it. If they need medicine,my sister has to call the parents to ask first and has a key to the cabinet not even the kids know which one is which. They do the same with cleaning products and put soap high up on a shelf in the bathroom too.

My son is almost 2 and I remember one time after dinner he was following me around while I mopped the kitchen floor....I had cluelessly left out 3 chewable melatonin tablets on the counter for myself to make sure I remembered to take before bed. Wouldn't you know it I looked at him and I could see he was chewing on something and looked up at the counter and 2 were missing. Went straight to the ER.
