  • A midday visit to the Kent & East Sussex Railway for their Santa Special events on Saturday 9th December 2017.
The railway ran a two train service with Santa and his elf helpers to give out presents to children on these two services running down from Tenterden to Northiam and back.
The biggest highlight on this visit was to see the return to service of newly overhaul Southern Railway Class S100 USA tank No.DS238 "Wainwright" turned out in Longmoor Military Railway livery as scrapped class mate No.300 and soon to be named "Major General Frank S Ross".
The second locomotive running along side the USA tank is joined by British Railways Western Region 1600 Class 'Pannier' tank No.1638 in action for standing for the Winter visit ex-Port Talbot/Great Western Railway 0-6-0ST No.813(visiting from the Severn Valley Railway and courtesy of the GWR 813 Fund) was used as stand by loco at Rolvenden(not feature in this video).
Filmed on Saturday 9th December 2017.

Great video mate. So good to see the s100 back in action in a fantastic new livery and gorgeous whistle! 1638 also made quite a presence of herself as well. Well shot, Matt.

Hello Joe - Nic Greene again from the Watercress Line. We’re making a short promo video for our Spring Gala in March 2019 and wonder if we could use a short piece from you video featuring LMR No 300 as this will be one of the guest engines. Attribution would of course be given. Many thanks - Nic Greene (geralldus on TH-cam)
