One of the most common questions we get is how we make our forms or where we get them from. This is addressed in the video as we construct the forms out of HDPE, screw them together at the joints, and then silicone the outside and inside joints to further prevent leaks. Then we hot glued the wood into the form and allow it to solidify and then we poured four different metallic pigments into our deep pour epoxy and poured away! After the Epoxy has cured we take it outside and trim the edges, plane the board on both sides, sand both sides from 120 grit to 320 grit and then finally we bevel the edges to create a more refined look. Once the refining process is complete we take the board back inside and mix our one-to-one ratio of table top Epoxy and after mixing by hand for 1 to 2 minutes we pour the epoxy on top! Make sure to evenly distribute the table top epoxy on the edges and the entirety of the surface. Once you’ve done this then it is time to leave the room so no debris will fall into the curing Epoxy. Once this is all cured you can take it back outside and sand the underside and finish with a wood oil. We hope you enjoy the beautiful video and for any questions, you may have regarding the process please leave them down in the comments below and we will answer them.

New to this artform. Where do you find the wood pieces to put into your molds?

Did you seal the wood before pouring the epoxy? I’ve had issues with staining if I didn’t seal the wood first

Thanks, good video and super looking board. I'm not sure however, what the tape on edges of the board are for as you put the top coat on.
