Very interesting video. I follow Charlotte’s channel (and other farmers) on TH-cam and your interview was very informative, I look forward to interviews with other farmers. I grew up in the country and thought that everyone knew about the countryside and farming, but now, thinking about it, that’s obviously not the case. Charlotte’s comments about the teaching industry makes a great point. Going from education into education, one is learning from books, not experience, and that also goes for any industry! Great interview, Charlotte totally agree with you on the aspect of training people, I totally believe that people learn more when there is some fun when learning, people learn more as they remember the fun bits so helps them to remember the information, in this day and age people don't like to be told what to do. well done
Excellent interview, I totally agree with Charlotte’s way of getting information across with humour, the more entertaining it is to watch,the more likely people are going to watch it, and the more they watch it the more they are going to learn. Definitely the subjects which were taught by teachers who could make a boring subject entertaining are the ones that that I learnt most from.

I'm not a farmer but I help with pest control (for free) with a local farmer and gamekeeper on a large farm in South Lincs so I have an outsider's understanding of farming. When I listen to politicians and others talking about the future of UK farming its seems to me that food security is an inconvenient truth and what "public opinion" seems to believe is that the countryside is some sort of theme park where you take you dog for a walk at the weekend. Even in the rural village where I live there are people who think that I should not be allowed to shoot rabbits etc. because its "cruel" and are horrified by the recent talk about a deer cull even though this part of the country is rapidly getting over run with Bambi and her friends.
Charlotte is brilliant. I follow all her posts and she is right about the bit of humour helps get things across. I’m not from a farming background and I’m learning so much from the likes of Charlotte and Olly. I think Charlotte would be the perfect representative for the NFU to go round schools to talk to children about farming. Great interview.
I call Graham's milk my 'Posh Milk' because it's top notch and makes excellent porridge, also raises the bar for my fave Weet biscuits brekky cereals. You don't need the full-cream bottle - the plain one I find best because it's all creamy compared to the full cream where you do get the cream at the top but the rest becomes a bit plain. Go try it.
I would like to add to a point Charlotte made about the air miles contribution to global warming. Jet aircraft burn kerosene, a heavy petroleum spirit similar to diesel. Diesel vehicles are fitted with particulate filters, catalytic converters and have diesel exhaust fluid to cut their pollution emmisions, but the vehicles are still vilified. Jet engines have none of these, but people still think nothing of flying to resorts, second homes, business meetings, conferences, and events (eg. Olympic games, music concerts and sporting finals.) Why is it that politicians and climate change protestors continue to ignore this?
American Agriculture is only responsible for 12% of US greenhouse gas emissions… I would imagine UK ag emissions are radically less…. Big oil loves to push blame on us farmers, but producing food is more import than more cars. And look closer at who promotes veganism…. Petro dollars love to work against AG.
