Thank you for posting this. This song is a masterpiece and showcases the massive talent of David Wilcox (from Asheville!). The words, voice and guitar coming together so beautifully. This video predates the American Music Shop performance I saw in 1989 om PBS. This song changed the way I played, tuned and sang. I never knew about alternate tunings until I discovered David. Traded recordings of his shows and saw him countless times. Commissioned him to write a song about my family which he did superbly after an hour interview. An immense talent and beautiful human being!
So nice... I listened to that first album most of all. Glad to have the time machine to see this show. No Rusty Old American Dream though? He must have still been working on it.

Still, after more than 30 years this song is so powerful, and oh so beautifully sung and played by David. He a master of THE LANGUAGE OF THE HEART.
