Very good question. It's actually not model specific, or even isolated to Springfields alone. Some Springfield models need the grip safety modified. Some don't. Some Colts and Kimbers need grip safety modification. Some don't. We made this video for anyone who runs into this issue, be it a Springfield or any other brand, so they know how to proceed. But, it certainly isn't all Springfields across the board.
will this work in a rock island 1911? I looking to go completely thru one and see how much i can improve it all around. kinda like a blue collar, duty built tactical purpose 1911..
Yes it will. We do recommend reviewing all of the Drop-In Trigger System videos, as they might apply. All or none of the additional modifications could come into play.
