In this Broadcast Award-winning, BAFTA and Emmy Award-nominated entertainment show, Taskmaster tyrant Greg Davies (Man Down, Cuckoo), with the help of his loyal assistant Alex Horne (The Horne Section and the show’s creator), sets out to test the wiles, wit and wisdom of five hyper-competitive comedians.

Alex is a genius, he always puts something obvious right in front of everyone and they never notice. The bucket was a great finish.

@@TylerTheTiler from TM NZ series 2 (I think) - they didn’t have the time limit there, so David somehow managed to stall so long that the camera crew left and went to lunch! 😂

@@TylerTheTiler David Correos was a contestant in New Zealand taskmaster who won this task after not opening the task for one and a half hours.
Pointing out the metal pot only at the very beginning and at the very end (to mention that pouring milk onto live electrical devices could have been avoided) was a genius little bit of storytelling. Chekov's metal pot.
The editing on Taskmaster is phenomenal. Sets it above any "reality show" which is exactly what it is, but performed by comedians and tied together into a panel show format with the stage tasks. Comic geniuses in the editing team.

Thank you, Taskmaster team, for getting me to think about the conductivity of milk and the relative danger/safety of pouring it on a plugged in microwave.
Well, she poured it over the front door. Not much electricity going on there. Still true though.
The timers look analog so the microwaves wouldn't have to be plugged in for them to work

Now we know that no contestant trusts Alex. But few trusts Paul.
I think Paul comes off as more chill, while Alex often radiates anxiousness.
I mean, if Paul's not bothered by what's on the task, maybe I (as a hypothetical contestant) don't have to worry. Whereas Alex is very much harried by the task going on (rate of speech is faster, does little rocking on toes thing, etc), so maybe he's a liar who is stressed by trying to lie to me.
I think this one pairs really nicely with the NZ leave task. That one, maybe the contestants would perform similarly well -- other than most of them not being as concerned as Angela. Be nice to see.

Watching this task the second time round, and I now see Alex trying not to laugh when Dara has his realization.
Since Alex said “I wouldn’t open that yet, if I were you,” I’d immediately ask “Well, when would you open it?”
As if that little weasel Alex would give out that much helpful info. He'd just go "Well not yet" over and over 😂

Given how long David spent on tasks (the caravan grape, the rapunzel shoelaces, this microwave milk), I think any time there’s a countdown timer added to a task to limit its potential maximum we should call it “The Correos Rule”

@@SilverEye91 David Correos is a Kiwi comedian, he won this task in Taskmaster New Zealand. His time before the milk cartons touched the microwaves was roughly 90 minutes.

@@SilverEye91 Yeahh, it was in season 2. Taskmaster NZ season 2 is, IMO, one of the best seasons of taskmaster out of any version of taskmaster. Well worth finding if you can

Quite an interesting change on the task from the NZ one with the 0:00 rule (or that's just they didn't wanted to give a salad to one of the player).
I preferred the NZ count to infinity because in this one, the contestants should be worried about the time, in the original one, they shouldn't. I understand why they put this in so that they wouldn't have to sit around all day if a contestant really decided to listen to Alex, but it creates a two pronged problem, but the contestant isn't allowed to know about the other prong until they open the envelope, which they won't if they trust the TA.

With the "disqualified if it gets to 0.00 " the contestants do have to open it at some point.

No way. She's slobbish and lazy. She owns it, and that's why we like her. She definitely did not clean.
Probably wouldn't have thought of it that quickly, but you could've poured out the milk and smashed the microwaves on the ground and then just procede to stand between them with 1 empty milk bottle in each hand until the timer hits 00:01. Would've loved to see that, out of context that would look like a 30 second mental breakdown rampage.
I mean, I might had quickly figured out it is about going as close to the 0 mark as possible and then just wait till it was around a minute left or so and just then read the task and do it. In fact Alex did kinda give a hint to it "I wouldnt open it if I was you"
Exactly, idk if you could have led all the milk out in less than 30secs, but just how quick you can read & move, but how quick the milk can flow

What’s wonderful is that this series has really divided the fans who’ve seen the New Zealand version and the fans who will have seen the New Zealand version by the end of the series 😂
This us why I won't watch the New Zealand version (or any other). I don't like knowing what's coming, in either direction. I like to be surprised. (And I'll always love Greg and Alex best.)
@@flippetskater Nah that's dumb. The NZ seasons are better than many UK seasons, and their tasks are more original too. It's UK that have stolen a couple of tasks from NZ as of late, but I'm pretty sure no UK tasks have shown up on NZ (at least, yet). Don't deprive yourself of good tv for no reason, season 2 in particular is excellent and season 1 is also really great.

I can't believe that Sarah was the only one who thought to tip them out! But I'm not surprised she didn't think to ask for something to pour them into as it was designed to throw all the contestants out, then you've got panic with the thirty seconds. There's no time to plot or plan. Very devious this one 😊

I used to work with a guy who every time he received instructions, he would say "ok... Wait, what?". One time someone in the office recorded him saying it and made a house music track sampling the "wait, what?"

Probably the most brilliant task, absolute mind game from the second they walk in the door. Useless microwaves heating useless food at useless times. A Task strapped over a timer, irrelevant questions, everything designed to confuse and provoke. Apart from giving them the ability to 'outsmart', probably my favourite of all seasons...
Work around for the task;
Pick up the microwaves and put them on the floor, hip width apart, pick up milk bottles and hold them by your sides to maximise your time.
Stack them on top of each other and sit on them, bottles held in hands on legs over microwaves
Take the bowls from the microwaves and put them under the milk bottles.
Sarah is the best contestant this series.
Has Alex ever made people look for the task?
Just make them enter the room and look around for the task, and all he says is (obviously) “All the information is on the task.” Then they start doubting their sanity until they eventually find the task with the task “Find the task” on it.

I swear i saw this task on the NZ taskmaster. I'm not sure which series or episode. But now I'm wondering how much involvement alex/UK team on the other versions of taskmasters.... did the UK team provided the tasks beforehand? Or in this case, the UK team actually "borrow" the task from NZ team?
From what I’ve heard I think it’s the second option!
Season 2 of NZ over a year a go. Sabotage from that season too. NZ have to write their own tasks, but if Alex likes it he will take it for UK.

I mean, Alex did provide the metal pot so they could be emptied. It also didn't say you couldn't move the microwaves either. There was ample prep time.
Only if you knew what the task was. It could have been anything, like: "Stuff all the peas into the chicken and stuff both of them into the milk bottles"
There was only thirty seconds of prep time from the moment they opened the task.

In the full episode Alex explains that some of the milk seeped beneath the floor and they missed it, idk why they left that part out

How many (others, apart from this one) NZ tasks have appeared on Taskmaster Original?
@@Tao_Tology There have also been a few stage tasks used on the UK version that were originally seen in the NZ one. The toilet paper tower (from series 13) is one, and from COC2, they did the suitcase one, but with different items inside.
They took so much in this series from tm nz

As far as the writing is concerned, I think UK did it better as it has the "don't let the timer get to 0" rule so the contestants have to open the task at some point.
