There was a day that we could wait with our loved ones or meet them at the gate. I’m thinking in this moment, they probably would have liked it the way it is today.🤣
DVD is one of the very few actors that I would had loved to meet in person. This is the first time I've seen this. I knew before I saw the ending that when they were all arguing that when the flight was going to take off they would all go back to loving each other again 😁
It was always comforting having loved ones keep me company until my flight, bus or train was ready to board...but *NEVER* had the likes of this break out!...LMAO🤣🤣🤣
He was one of my most favorite actors!! Lol, at some point he was on the series "mama's family " which he played a character that was supposed to be an old friend of Carol Burnett's husband! I really got confused 🤣 at the beginning because I expected him to be playing the part of HER brother !! Lol it was still a good show
He wasn’t on Mama’s Family, he was on one season of Carol Burnett Show as regular replacing Harvey Korman when he left. He played a character of Ed’s friend who moved in and freeloads on Eunice in “The Family” sketches after Ed leaves Eunice. Van Dyke ended up “leaving” mid season as he felt the show wasn’t a good fit for him.
Strangely, I don't miss friends/family going all the way to the gate. You can say your goodbyes at home or in the car. There's no longer an obligation to make a production of the whole family going to the airport, finding/paying for parking, and having to sit with the passenger until they board.
This is paying homage to the old school I love Lucy Shtick with Lucy and Ricky on one side and the Mertzs on the other. Start off with how they love each other and then get in a fight. Used that gag a lot on I love Lucy. It works every time and is brilliantly done here too.
I have always wanted to see the Carol Burnett Show in English caption❣️ Thank you for bringing the old heydays of Carol Burnett. One request, as a deaf in my teens during the 70’s, I’ve always love Tim Conway’s facial expressions during these shows. Also loved seeing the Jackson 5ive/Jacksons days. Where can I find such videos of the Jacksons in Carol Burnett Shows with English captions? I’ve always knew that Carol loves the J5!❣️!❣️
I cleared a lot from my abode these last 12 months, and once I decided to let something go, and it hung around - waiiiiiiting to sell, dayyy afterrrrr dayyyyyyyy. This skit is applicable to a lot of things that, once you say goodbye to something, it really is best TO SEE IT GO!!!!!!!! opposed to having stay for a longer period of time. HA!
Whoa the cringeworthy things that families say to one another, this sketch is really brilliant same way Eunice and Ed was brilliant! Slightly creepy, too…sadistic toxic overtones.
Yeah I am talking to myself. Forgive me. Let's talk about uncomfortable silence. In 2022 nobody can shut their mouths. 40 years ago we just sat around looking at our shoes. I love you. GTFO.
Dick Van Dyke was a bad fit for being a series regular to replace Harvey Korman. Happily, he didn't last long. Van Dyke even admitted it had been a mistake.
The good old days when you could see your loved ones off at the terminal gate. Loved her show!!
Or even get on the plane with them
I’ve been on a Carol Burnett burner for a few weeks now. So glad when new ones are uploaded. This one was keepin’ it real, lol!
I miss the Carol Burnett show 🩵🩵🩵
Family dynamics.… Aptly illustrated, hilariously. 😆
I love Dick Van Dyke and Carol Burnette !

The human experience still holds up. The akwardness is classic.
Exactly!
Such a good observation and so psychologically correct! People who wrote the scripts were very clever. And Carol with her group amazes me every time.
So good! SNL couldn’t pull off anything this funny these days if they tried.
Love Dick Van Dyke 💛💛
Her show is amazing and always has amazing casts too 👍👍👍👍
Loved her shows and Dick Van Dyke is even better

I adore Dick Van Dyke 😍 always have. I have his book too. Everyone should read it. It's called Keep Moving.

Pure funny comedy………great cast
It was always comforting having loved ones keep me company until my flight, bus or train was ready to board...but *NEVER* had the likes of this break out!...LMAO🤣🤣🤣
Laughed so much, thank you for posting this video.
That's family. You get into tiffs but you still love each other, no matter what.
5:53 😂😂😂😂 I love when Carol flips out like that! 🤣🤣😂😂
So much great talent…what a joy to watch again!
My god this is so accurate xD
She’s hilarious
That is so good. They just don't make them like they use to.
Sweet sour sweet🤣🤣🤣

Why do you talk about him in the past tense? He's still alive and is still working.

@@sschimel my apologies; I had been told that he had passed away earlier this year. I didn't fact check my information. I meant no disrespect.
@@apollozero thanks for clearing that up. I just assumed when I saw "the family " episodes, that it was Mama's family
Funny how Vicky always seems 2 initiate dissent. 💜
Love her outfit. I’m going to bring back that pants style.
This is so appropriate for the current time with the delays.

lol just leave 😂😂
And this is where a smartphone would’ve been handy. 😂

You could always get the English subtitles for any videos, i guess, though they would not be 100% accurate!

Yeah but it cost to watch it.
Jajaja this is such a gift .. so funny
Funny!!!!
And just in time for the holidays……

Look! It's Bert from Mary Poppins!!
Or dr. Mark Sloane from Diagnosis Murder, or Fitzwilly, or Lt. Robin Crusoe; USN.
Just so you know... Paul McCartney used to be in a boy band. Oh, to be 12! Yes, I'm jealous.
Whoa the cringeworthy things that families say to one another, this sketch is really brilliant same way Eunice and Ed was brilliant! Slightly creepy, too…sadistic toxic overtones.
Can’t touch this C B is an original why do people like this that can make you laugh have to age
This is so naturally funny, that you could easily correlate. The silence between them gets so increasingly embarrassing.
How DID they memorize all that dialogue?!
I thinks they kinda ad libbed sometimes.
Typical family, love/hate
Dick. Tim. Carol. Vickie. Life is good. Right now? Life is good. I am a 59 year old man. I am crying. But I am not sad. Not at all.

🤣🤣🤣🤣
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
They went to the zoo, huh... I wonder if they saw the elephants.
Conway's coat?
💖 💖 💖 💖 💖 💖 💖 💖 💖 🤣🤣🤣🤣😂😂😂🙏🙏🙏
👍🤣
I think she started a trend…they remind me of SNL
❤️💫🌟🌞
Who is the young lady?
Vicki Lawrence
Actress 🤣
Joseph and 😀 Today TV

It wasn't Dick's fault. It's just that no one in the universe could replace Harvey Korman.
Awkward!!!
Even for 7 minutes this was painful to watch.
7 minutes? This was my life.
The whole Carole Burnett Show had no socially redeeming value.
Dike is an absolute cherished star!!!
