Duster Garage.. Awesome video! Man that brings back memories of me drag racing my 1974 Duster and 1969 Dart. I love the white car in the background of your garage near the end of the video. Mine Duster was white. I think I am going to have to try to find me another one. LOL
Wow, Mopar day! Very tempting to fly out there for that. 11.65 is fast and I like the way that your rear tires grip which brings the fronts way up. Great videos!
Beginning of the season..working out minor kinks always necessary for any racer. Nice Duster !!! Enjoy the summer days, mine is still in restoration...
4th generation eastern North Carolina 30 min. by the ocean 🌊 This 340 has same design of yellow and black vinyl top as my 1969 Sport 340 had. We ran 440 Magnum 's, Hemi's, 396's, 289's, even ran a State Patrolman in an old tobacco barn trying to get plate #'s. Put word out it was the hardesi to stop, never caught us. Afterwards, the law was continually in my rearview mirror. Never was topped in my neighborhood ‼️It was a demonstrator on car lot, only few 1000 miles when my daddy help me purchase it. Only put a set of hooker headers on it. Tort-flight transmission, had no idea I was getting something so aggressive...these 340 engine's was so little recognized in their time .
It's sometimes hard to cut the light but still a good day when you can drive it back. I seen some air under the left front tire. She's running good. Good to see you on the strip. Keep it up. Thanks for sharing with us. 👍✌️
I thought you did great! Car runs spot on. Bracket racing is tough. You were dialing in your reaction time. Splitting less than a tenth of a second is not easy.
I have a 69 roadrunner 440-6 4 speed. I won the Lonestar shootout in Houston TX. 2005. Street bracket class in a 4 SPD! In semi fina lround I cut a .002 reaction time. Ran 13.22 on a 13.20 dial. Then the final! It took MANY runs to learn timing of lights.
It sure sounds good. Sounds like it shifts solid. I’m jealous. Still working on my Demon. Me and the Demon both got old. I’m just going alot slower. Trying to refresh her so she doesn’t go slower. You got to the track, so that’s a good day !! 👍
That car runs so well with that mild 340, mid-11's is just outstanding for that little Duster. That is why the A-body 340 cars were so well respected during the muscle car era.
@@Duster_Garage Don't be modest, an additional 20 cubes makes little difference. You have built a really good street/strip machine with a modest budget and just a lot of tunning and sorting out the combination. Good job! You need to be proud of yourself, and I am sure the car will go even faster.
Car ran damn good for conditions! The car launches great,60ft times look good! My 60ft was down this last weekend because of air quality DA was close to 3000 ft and I was running wrong converter so car didn't put down great times but still ran pretty good considering...unfortunately it's that time of the year now...crap air and heat lol
@Duster_Garage I understand that,I've got my new converter back from being adjusted and in the car again so I'm gonna try and go this Saturday and see if the converter is right this time,i sure hope so,I'm gettin tired of taking trans in and out! Lol
@@Duster_Garage yeah, i have 3 tracks near me but all are 75mins to 90 mins doing 80mph.. 4.57s.. forget it, i wil change to like 3.55s sometime but this center section was free, gonna have fun with it for awhile :)
It seemed to run pretty consistant considering the DA changing as much as it did..good job all around with everyone.Pratice on your lights ,maybe with a portatree and alot of runs under your belt. You"ll get there. Sucks you didnt get that 1 60 ft time .
The rear wheels are 15x8s, with 4.5” of backspacing. And the tires are 275/60r15 ET streets. Front wheels are 15x4 with 1.75” of backspacing. Tires are 26x7.5x15. Hope this helps.
I don't care if u win or lose I just like to see it goin down the track 👍👍👍👍
Hell yeah! Thanks brother 🤙
It was nice to see you out of the garage!! at least you ran good!!!! Have a great weekend. 😎✌️💯
Thanks buddy! Enjoy your weekend 👍
Eleven second street legal A body? No better seat in the house! Its pretty fun in a twelve second one too .....
Absolutely, mine was in the twelves for many years. Still was fun as hell to street/strip.

It is a really cool event. I wish it was all weekend.

A restoration is a long process, feels like it takes forever. Hopefully you’ll be enjoying yours sooner than later.
Another great video! I ain’t no bracket racer either but I love that power!
You got that right! I love it too

A bad day at the track is still better than a good day at work
Damn right.
It was nice to be there with you! 😍 I thought the car ran well considering the humidity was high.
Next time, you’re driving and I’m filming. 😂
😬😅 At least the footage would be GREAT of me going slower than you do. 🤣

A 4-speed in a bracket car must be tough. That’s badass! I’ve cut good lights from time to time but not consistently. Practice makes perfect. 👍
@@Duster_Garage yes it is! I have had maybe a 120 passes down the track before having some success at the track having fun! Keep it up! 👍

You may have wanted better but it looked fun as hell. Hope you keep at it. Love the race content!!!!
Thanks brother! You’re right, it was fun as hell.

She does run pretty good, but she’s a bit of a ringer. There’s a 360 under the hood. The extra stroke really helps the bottom end torque.

I heard that. I love the summer but the car doesn’t care for it. Honestly, I may not run the car again until fall.

Man I swear, we are all still dialing in the new combos.
You beat every car that didn’t make there! Keep pushing brother
I’m part of the combo, and I definitely need dialing in. Lol
Redlighting ishow you learn :) I'm jealous you got to go to the track :) my tracks are too far to drive my car to with 4.57s... and would take 3 hours
Dang that is a hike. I thought I had a long drive at a little over an hour. I’ll

Yeah, I thought the car did well considering the conditions. I’m just out of practice with bracket racing. A portable tree is a cool idea.
Don’t be too hard on yourself mate, sounds sweet.
Thanks brother!
Hey, what tire size and gear? I think for what your set up is you’re kicking ass with those times slips
Thanks man! I have 4.10s in the rear and 275/60R15 ET streets on the back.
What’s up, buddy? Quick question with your car and the 340 and Cast iron heads with you in the car what is the car weigh?
@@frankvottiero8704 It is approximately 3160 with me in it.
Whats the specs on your wheel and tires especially the back spacing?

@@Duster_Garage Awesome, thank you so much, yours looks great.
@@patbateman6729 thanks man
looks like you started video at the bathrooms did your feet get wet in the mens side with the sink running?😂
Actually, yes they did 🤣
what is camshaft peak rpm? are you shifting at 5900?
It’s a Mopar 484 cam and I think it was advertised 2500-6000rpm. I get my best times shifting her at 6500 though.
Nice job , just a little more tuning and it will be running consistently in the 11.50’s or faster !

Check your converter stall
Do you feel like it’s too loose or not loose enough?
