A boatyard in Richmond, CA used to have major problems with people cutting through fences and stealing very expensive hardware off of boats to take to the scrapyards to cash in at pennies on the dollar. The lawmakers probably have stock or a family member on the board of a 'non-profit' that the state government gives millions of dollars to solve the homeless problem. Politicians trying to 'solve' the homeless crisis is a joke. There is billions of dollars being made off people, businesses, and organizations pretending to solve the homeless problems and its sickening.
It's simple, really. It creates fear, which tends to short-circuit most people's ability to think rationally. So when those people are presented with a "solution" to that fear that _sounds_ like it'll work, they leap at it, even if it ultimately does nothing--or even makes things worse. The politicians get to claim they "doing something," which gets them re-elected. They get all the perks of having power, but ultimately shoulder none of the responsibilities that come with it. But then, that's what happens in a political system which encourages (though I'd say it _requires)_ narcissism from it's participants in order to "succeed."
They do that even more in the past five years because they see the Finish Line. That is the point where they will always win due to having the vote majority. its easy to equate poor people with criminal behavior. but the millionaires billionaires and trillionaires are worshiped. no one person works hundreds of thousands of times harder then another lol thats exploitation.
I remember decades ago I saw this fence design that was a chainlink fence and on each link it literally had what looked like those old fashion razor blades on it - so no matter where you put your fingers in the holes, they'd get sliced up. It was a some security solutions convention but I never saw it anywhere else since. It was a concept that probably didn't fly because maybe folks could sue either the maker of it or any business that installed it. However if I saw something like that as a criminal, I'd just move on.
@disregardedkitchen I have only seen Concertina/Razor wire set up as the top of fences, or as stand alone barricades laid out in the spooled/looped fashion. What he is describing sounds more like something I have heard of, but never seen, which is when Razor wire strips/striping, is applied to a chain link fence. Doing that, with the razor wire spooling at the top, and energizing both with Buffalo/Bison grade electric pulsing would make a very effective barrier, along with an exciting new TH-cam Stream.

You're not wrong. Been here 40 years. The policies are definitely a problem here as well as the voters who have no idea what the policies really are. I spoke with a north-everett voter who matched the progressive stereotype almost laughably. She said all automatic weapons should be banned, did not know there was a difference between semi and fully automatic, and said that AR-15s should have never been allowed to be in the hands of the public because it's so lethal. I will never understand why these governments would rather do nothing than to actually protect its citizens
Money and power is the reason
They did and it was called "the police", but then all the "Defund the Police" nonsense was taken up and cops had their hands tied by public outrage. Governments want votes and will do what the loudest mouths call for. Blame the people for idiocy of the government; they put those in power and keep them there.
They are their constituents
That is sad that things have come to this. 😮

Stop making everything political! You're falling for the trap the Republicans and Democrats have! They want us fighting while they both steal from us!
They do that even more in the past five years because they see the Finish Line. That is the point where they will always win due to having the vote majority.
