People must pack better. My equipment is mummyfied when I ship!! Foam surrounding the unit and bubble wrap the unit. Corners of boxes reinforced from the inside.
Those shipping places are not held responsible for damage to products being shipped, That's really to bad!😮 Back in the 80s-90s those places were decent then! Now they don't care anymore, No pride!!!!!!!
This is what makes me think second time online shopping. First I have to pay for the shipping, and in return risk this kind of mishandling the item, go and collect the parcel somewhere, etc. I rather use brick and mortar shops, sure the shipping costs have embedded somewhere in the price as well, but I bet it's cheaper per unit for companies who ship large amount of items, compared to ordinary people who ship just one item at the time. Most importantly, the item has survived the trip already that far intact, to the shop, and the rest is up to me, and I definetely won't play football with the item I buy.
And the benefit is you are supporting a local business who employs local people. With online you are just helping Jeff play with rockets with the elite.
The appropriate stickers of Do not stack / Fragile/ glass/ do not drop/ would have saved this poor unit and better packaging would have helped/ but sheesh what an awful shame 😞
Ir won't be. Nor will the tax bill. That will arrive, I will shread it then a few months later a collection agency will send me a letter and I will shread that too.
Don't have one. No interest on one. Would never print a part and put it in a paid repair because then I am married to it forever. When the printed part fails, about 10 tapes in I would be expected to change it forever. At my expense. I have tried to have parts 3d printed in the past. Perhaps a small mid way gear that is under no stress might work bit nit cams and levers. I had s Samsung a few years back that I tried to use a 3d printed part. All done with different material. Had 5 different pieces. The first 2 broke before I got it together. The 3rd broke after a half dozen cycles. The 4th seemed to hold. I shipped it back. About 3 weeks later that one broke and the guy was demanding I change it again for free and pick up the shipping charges both ways. You can probably imagine where that went. Even if I could source the part what other damage is present. Broken boards? More likely then not.
but where is it on the c-hair scale? half-blonde, blonde, red, brunette, or mediterranean? footage of that VCR being delivered: th-cam.com/video/7YrpmZFixp0/w-d-xo.html
Yup ups and fedex are crooks. I have a collection agency chasing me now because I refused to pay their broker and tax bill on an item shipped in for repair. I told the owner to ship it usps, and some people do not listen. The unit was unrepairable as no parts available and yet they want me to pay 54.00. Fu#k that.
For international shipping you HAVE to use a better box than whatever is lying around the house, come on...
I double box every big electronics

Everything that has been damaged in shipping was due to insufficient or no packing.
Football is what the shipping carriers are so famous for. Triple pack your goods BEFORE you ship it out. If not , football carnage!!!😮🏈👍

Thats only good when someone can actually read.
Except that UPS employees are illiterate.
Brokeer fee should be reimbursed as well rediculous

You can probly superglue the gears back and resin cast new one in a silicone mold. But I’m sure you know that already 😆
Nope. When parts are unavailable I give up.
Indeed. Everything is repairable. Might take some time to learn new skills but that's all part of the hobby. 👍
Or maybe 3D print new parts?
Good luck with that
Nobody is willing to pay.
i've seen the videos online of shippers throwing packages around and kicking and tossing them. sadly that's not isolated incidents
I'm surprised you haven't got a 3D printer u could 3D print easily enough

Strawberry blonde
Like in the UK like any UK courier
The packing is not that great either.
Could you epoxy the gear back together?
No, won't hold. Its nylon. Can't be glued. Also a high stress part
Why they never used brass tooth gears 😊
Because the Japanese made things cheaply thats why.
plastic parts are way faster and cheaper to make.
Oh my gosh. They should have to pay for the damage they caused.
If it wasn’t broken before it is now
Bloody money grabbers!
