3:05 I like the raw reaction of the studio audience. First of all that's a pretty serious burn the writers put in there lol. And you can hear one guy in the audience like "yeeahh!" 😆
Yep. He's always got to be the best. Number one. Nothing less. Can't accept anything else. He's got to be so competitive. The same thing kind of thing happens to Jesse on saved by the bell when they do the graduation episode many years later. But, when Jesse finds out from Lisa that it was actually screech who was supposed to be valedictorian but screech gave up the chance to be valedictorian and gave it to Jesse because it had always been been Jesse's desire to be valedictorian, Jesse graciously gives back the honor of valedictorian to screech. That's the only difference. Jesse accepts it quicker. Alex here has a hard time accepting that his girlfriend was chosen valedictorian and that he wasn't. That's the only difference.
i think its funny they were in an episode together, as daphne zuniga later on was in The Fly 2 with eric stoltz, who had the role of marty mcfly before michael
Alex was dealing with a lot at the time. He'd just realized he was dating a girl that looked almost exactly like his Mallory. Lots of feelings there to sort out...
To be fair, I think she was being a bit insensitive. Asking him to critique her speech after usurping his throne as valedictorian is kind of a dick move.
Alex is being immature and basically a sore loser. But his feelings are somewhat understandable (especially knowing how he normally is) and she should be more sensitive about it. It's easy to see how he might possibly feel like she's rubbing a fresh wound, or testing him somehow. And it's equally easy to see how she feels that she'd want to be asked for advice, or want to help, if their positions were switched. All in all, it's a pretty legit and impressively believable scenario they depicted. Albeit slightly exaggerated for comedy/dramatic purposes.

Alex couldn't accept the fact that his girlfriend got the honor of being class valedictorian. He was sooo childish about it
Ohio's answer to Sheldon Cooper.
Alex can REALLY come off as a smug arrogant character sometimes...
Give the writers credit for creating such a smug character because they thought it would be funny.
Yes, with a heart, though❤
Only sometimes?
The most popular characters are usually obviously flawed, but with certain endearing virtues.
Who would love to meet daphne, and Michael,? I know i would.
is she the princess in Spaceballs?
i allways liked her
Same here.

It wasn't his throne, though.
@@asterisk911 Exactly. This goes to show his bad character in these matters; she didnt do anything wrong
